Need to find a cat... MOT coming up soon and it’s not going to pass as it is! Any pointers to any available? Thanks!
The problem is the prices of 182 cats. I'd imagine a lot have been sold because there worth so much now.

Ktec sell these:

Or you take a punt in something like this:

That is the issue with the 182 cats.

I'd be tempted to go for one of these if you need a cat: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sport-ca...less-Catalytic-Fits-to-OE-Sports/142528559110

Sorry for the lack of updates! Still waiting for work to be done. Booked in for early September. Managed to source a cheap cat from eBay to get it through its MOT. Just driving it as is at the moment. Clutch still holding up but knocking from the front right has definitely worsened so very keen to get that sorted ASAP.

I did get some cool rolling photos taken by one of my employees the other day. Attached below!

Can't they recondition yours? l think you said it was leaking, l'm sure you can change the seals.
What happened with the clutch?

Can't they recondition yours?

I think that was kind of the idea. Mine gets sent off to the company and they provide a reconditioned one in return whilst mine re-enters the cycle. One is being built supposedly. I guess I'll carry on waiting...

Finally got the car back today. Ended up having a lot of work done to it.

New clutch was fitted due to grease on the nose cone and the clutch cover plate springs being weak
New steering rack was fitted also mounting bolts sorted as they were crossed threaded and covered in silicone
Sump was removed to fit new gasket as the fitted one had just been sealed with silicone
Engine mounting bolts had to be drilled out and re threaded
Rear gearbox bearing was replaced
New reverse light switch was fitted
All oils and filters were changed. Oil filter on the car was completely rusted
MOT carried out
Various other little bits done

A lot more work than expected was done to the car as well as rectifying bits that came up as the work was carried out but we got there in the end! The car runs and drives a lot smoother now. Gearbox and clutch feel much nicer to use. Just need to have the rear bumper resprayed to alleviate some lacquer peel that has occurred then that will (hopefully) be it for now😁 Very happy to have the car back and looking forward to driving it properly again!

That's good news but surprised at the bodgery that you found.
The oil filter was replaced while l had the car and that was only two years ago.
I am a bit shocked about all the stripped seized and cross threaded bolts etc but at least it's all fixed now.
l am not sure who sealed the sump gasket with silicone, that may have been done before l got the car as l never had the sump off.
The gearbox was a second hand one that l bought and had fitted.
lt worked fine while l had the car.
When l sold the car, the brand new clutch l'd had fitted was light and worked perfectly, again barely 5,000 miles ago.
l also replaced all the injectors, and had the garage replace both driveshafts, the water pump, cam belt etc.

Glad you managed to get a CAT for it, one of the three owners it had after l sold it much have kept it as l gave it with the car.

How much did you end up spending on it? Hopefully with all those issues fixed it should be OK for a while.

I spent in the region of £1600 but hopefully with everything sorted now I shouldn't incur too many more large bills all in one go! I will of course keep on top of everything now it's sorted and just enjoy driving it! Fingers crossed all remans well with it as I it is such a great car to drive.

lt always drove well.

PS you've got a way to go before you get to what l spent on it!!

Hope it's OK now, and at least for a while you don't need to spend any more money on it.

That looks great
My missus went to work in that car every day during 2018
She got a lot of respect from the lads in the factory as she pulled up in the car park next to the Corsas, Fiestas, Micras and Fiat Pandas of the other office staff.

Never one to drive an anonymous car, she now owns this.

Just randomly popped on here as I have just bought a Clio 200 (cant seem to get away from Clios, no matter how hard I try, 5th one now!).

Thought I would have a look through some of my old threads. Nice to see the old girl getting the love she deserves.

Glad she is still putting a smile on your face mate, I had a great time driving it when I owned it, Cost me 3 points exactly one week after buying it!

Sure I saw it up for sale last year in Ireland, my mate text me about it.

I ended up back in another Golf GTI, then a Octy VRS, then a MK6 GTI, now a clio 200! I get bored quickly and dont keep cars for much longer than a year!

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on this thread to keep up to date with the car.

The car was sold to someone in lreland after l owned it.

Sorry for slow reply, missed this!

Been loving the car! Mechanically all good now. Can’t find the cause of the knock from thefront right but doesn’t seem to have any negative effect apart from the noise!

I am having an issue with the rear right light & front right side light. Having been through many bulbs and fuses it still keeps dropping out. Going back to the garage in next few days to see if we can work it out. Any suggestions much appreciated!

Going to get some fresh PS3’s on soon, def on the front and possibly rear if needed when it comes to it. Also keen to upgrade the brake pads to something a little stronger. Will also get some fresh fluid in there. Plenty of options for upgrading pads, again if anyone has suggestions as to something that will hold up to some spirited road driving then please let me know!

The car had new tyres on it when l owned it at 100,000
l guess they didn't last long. The guy l bought it from had them fitted, but then the gearbox became noisy and he sold it to me.
l never had any issues with the lights, except for the rear number plate light which had corroded.
Glad to see the car being owned by someone who is using it, hopefully it will be OK now you've sorted the mechanical issues out.

  Land Rover
The guy who had it before me didn't like the (near new) RS3's that were on the car when he got it.

He took them off and had PS3's fitted. Said it was much better.
l think it's on page three or four of this thread.

  Land Rover
Well, the car has only done 5,000 miles since the tyres were fitted and l would have expected a brand new set of tyres to last longer than that !!
The worst l've done is 8,000 on the front tyres on my Alfa 145 2.0
But that car had a lot of negative camber on the front wheels and the inside edges of the tyres were bald after 8,000 miles

Currently at 111,000+ miles now. I'll run them a little longer but the outer shoulder of the front tyres are fairly worn now!

PS3's are terrible when they get close to the limit, especially in the wet. Keep an eye out for some black friday deals and get them swapped.

  Land Rover
lt looks like the car has done 11,000 miles since the tyres were fitted, and not 5,000 as l somehow thought, so l guess that could be about how long they last.

  Renault Clio 182
Can any of the previous owners advise on any problems they had with the right rear light? That circuit has had bulbs, fuses, switches etc changed but can't seem to get it to work for longer than 10 minutes!

Have you checked the earth? Done continuity tests along the cable?

  Land Rover
No issues with the lights when l owned it, except the rear number plate light which l repaired as best as l could, as (from memory) the connectors were in a poor state.

  Renault Clio 182
Got someone coming to look at it tomorrow. Fingers crossed he can sort it.

Also looking into upgrading front rotors and pads to something a little stronger early next year. Not interested in a whole new braking setup but if I can get some slight improvements whilst keeping things OEM+ then I’ll be happy

No issues with the lights under my ownership mate. Did you get it sorted??

I was going through a load of old photos on my Google Photos the other day and came across some of this car. That colour is such a good colour to photograph.

How's the car treating you now mate?
