DCI 80 intercooler fitting

Had about 30 mins spare today so tried to chuck on the dci 80 intercooler.

Bar the lower pipe missing a 90 degree bend into the turbo I was wondering how people have mounted the intercooler. I've got A/C so the rad and condenser are all in one. The A/C pipe gets in the way of the top intercooler outlet and the radiator from the dci 80 has both connectors on the n/s. Mine has one each side.

Does anyone have a photo of theirs or which parts I need to have the intercooler, rad and condenser.

Cheers cliosport

Looked at his fitting earlier and it looks like he had the same problem with the A/C condenser

  Many.
The pipe that comes out the top? I fixed it the other day. Bent the A/C Pipe very carefully. I can see if I can get some pics, took me a little while though.

Take it you won that one on ebay, I nearly bid on it as mines not in best condition.

Are you all fitting it in the correct order. From front - ac rad- intercooler rad-coolant rad

Shouldnt have to bend the ac pipe. Did it on my dads 65 fitting a DCI 80 intercooler and it fitted snugg. Bearing in mind my proper DCI 80 has a rubber flexi hose for the ac top part so it misses the top intercooler pipe

My ac rad just hooks into the intercooler rad

On mine and I believe Alex's the radiator and condenser are all in 1 piece and you can't separate them. Meaning there are no proper fixing points for the intercooler. Also needs a new coolant pipe to fit the other rad pack. Not sure if the newer condenser has a different a/c pipe as mine is metal top and rubber bottom.

I think on cars without a/c like my girlfriends 65 the 80 goes straight in no worries. Her 80 intercooler is bolted straight to the original rad.

  Many.
Heres how mine is bodged.

Had a look at it today while I had the front bumper off, intercooler sits too low, but thats because I need the proper brackets etc, which I think will be impossible since my AC rad is part of the coolant rad. But Anyway, I bent the top pipe really carefully, as I have a spare if it broke, so had nothing to loose!

Not ideal, but it works, Plan to change the intercooler sooner rather than later too as its devloped a leak I've noticed!

Hope this helps anyway.

Ahh perfect.

Good old cable ties. My 182 was held together with them!
