I wasn't having a go Mark. Jim at WD used to be green and fast cut plus! Just surprised that's what it took, whilst still unsurprising...

No I know mate. I didn't take offence to it. Perhaps I worded my post wrong.

What I meant was, when I said I knew, was a guy at work said I was using the wrong pad also. That's why I'm looking at alternatives now.

Plus it has been resprayed so you can’t just use the hard paint rule of thumb.

Edit: I’ve always liked Menz PO106, PO203, FG400 and hex logic white, green and orange as a core base for finding a workable combo.

Indeed mate. I bought the Menzerna for when we first flatted the paint back after it was sprayed, prior to it being polished. I've just kept and used the same products, but now I dont need to so perhaps a medium cut and pad would be better, just as a top up. I still like the Sonax perfect finish and that seems to work well with the yellow Rupes pad.

Well after seeing all this detailing thats been going on,I decided that i am going to take the cover off my car:cry:,that has not been looked at for a good few months now,i'm expecting the interior to be infected with mould as my Subaru was as it only gets used 6 /7 months of the year, but will try to give it a good clean, and will be an excuse to try out this new fogging machine that I picked up...Has anyone ever used one before in an interior? It's supposed to prevent mould from coming back by getting rid of their food source!...I guess ill see...

I was using FG 400 on a cutting pad on my old RB 200 and it didn’t touch it. I had to resort to wet sanding in the end 🙀 Renault paint is like concrete 😂

Well took the cover off and it was not looking too bad for 5 months covered up mainly dusty, but that was most probably my falling apart car cover...

The interior was not that bad but the mould was having a party on my steering wheel...

it will be getting replaced with a racing steering wheel at a later date so in all honesty was not really too bothered, but i still gave it a clean up anyway with Valet Pro Enzyme Odour Eater...

It is my first time using a fogging machine, but hopefully it will do what it’s says it can regarding killing viruses and bacteria...

Original? How the f*** have those rubber thumb grips not turned into dust?
As far as i am aware it is,I’m partly to blame about the mould really as I just left it to the elements. My plan was to give it a full detail 2 stage machine polish etc...and sell it...it was my wife that said to me “just finish what you started”...so i am going too(y)

You misunderstood, mould aside, how have those rubber grips made it this far. Oxygen alone seems to make them crack and fall apart?!

Well the fogging machine is set up and anti bacterial solution added will see how it goes...

Looks good so far fills the whole interior up ,the instructions that I found says to let it stay in the car for 20 minutes and then open doors to air the fog out and once the fog has dissipated the jobs done...

All you need now are some strobe lights and some house music!

I thought it would be a good thing to do I originally ordered the fogger for my kids room in the house, especially with all these viruses floating about, but when I spoke to a advisor of fog it they said it’s also perfect at destroying mould spores and keeping cars fresh,so it was a sensible investment for me...well that’s what I told my wife;)

Well aprox 20 minutes have now passed doors and boot opened up to air out....

Has any one used those deodoriser bombs ? Are they any good does the scent last. On a similar note any one recommend a good lasting air freshener I have tried loads and don’t seem to last long

I've tried the meguiars one. Smells really nice but again doesnt last. Think I got 2 weeks out of it and it was gone. Also not exactly cheap at 14 quid or so

Yeah I've got meguiars ultimate polish but tbh I dont think it's necessary. I'm using quite light pads anyway and it doesnt appear to be too hazy. If this lockdown continues for ages, I'll strip it back and polish it but for now, I'm done 😂
Unless I give it some SRP by hand?

I still think California scents last the best. Definitely 6 months in my car.

Otherwise maybe try the infinity wax ones. They are a spray. I've kinda decided that spray freshners are actually quite economical. Quick spritz once a week.

Well. Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves. 4 (probably 5) days of hard work. Gotta say, I'm chuffed. It's not perfect but I wasnt chasing perfection.

I used some meguiars glass cleaner and then sealant so I'll see how that goes. Gtechniq C2V3 applied all over Harly Wax. Its come up spot on.
