Sorry no Sir - it wasn’t bad at all however it now feels and looks like new - I also did the Megane steering wheel - handbrake and gear knob - again really impressed with the look and feel.

I think I'm just after a mid range polishing machine and suggestions on anything else I will need.

The in2detailing one is pretty good.

Saying that I just laid £300 for a machine polish and Gyeon Cancoat with a local detailer.

A full correction is a couple of days but this was a while day job and the result was fantastic

The results were better than what I could achieve myself and obviously I wasn't there for ages.

Yeah I got quoted £800 by local detailer to do full correction, that's why was thinking of buying the equipment myself and getting to like 90% there instead.

I pay around £100 to have a car fully buffed, then do the rest myself.

Ceramic coated the Megane last week, very easy stuff to use with no clouding - brought a new bottle home this weekend to hopefully get the Trophy done.

Results below - Trophy has only been buffed and highly polished so far

So, finished a big one the other day. Chuffed with the results (as was the customer!). Full machine polish with coating (inc glass).

F Type Jag, Supercharged V8 and the rare RWD model. BRG over cream with the optional bucket seats (Spec was off the charts actually). Lovely lovely chap.

New to me but what a bit of kit. Mini rotary is epic. Ive even got the micro extension kit for it! Takes some getting used to and its very different to a DA, but so so good on intricate areas. and, for the record, no, I didnt just jump on a brand new machine on a rather expensive car lol. Tested a lot on my own before putting it anywhere near this thing.

Under strict supervision from the owners attack dog.

Absolutely stunning car. The owner was over the moon as they had caused 2 areas of deep 'pig tails' from hand polishing with a dirty cloth. They werent totally removed, but they were heavily reduced.

Owners mate then pops round to see what im up to. Also wants me to do his SLK now 🤣

That looks great, 50/50 mixed? I've mixed with V7 before but beading wasn't as strong.

All these BSD pictures, made me grab BSD myself yesterday but not had rain yet 😂

I think it was about 50/50 yeah tbf was eye balled a bit but I doubt it really matters much. It was the Banana edition they had a while back which was supposed to have more protection too I'll get the tropical one next as the other isn't available now. It stops the BSD from feeling grabby like it does on its own too.

I've got to admit BSD never was my favourite for ease of use but didn't notice it being overly grabby yesterday (one spray on cloth, the one spray per panel). Altough it's not near as slick afterwards as some other products.

Yeah I don't think it's overly grabby or anything but as you say compared to how slick some products (like the IW) it's a bit less fun to work with especially on a dry car that's pretty much it's only downside though and at £47 for 5L I can certainly live with that.

I've never had an issue with BSD, I could pretty much get rid of my other stuff and use this on everything. And a bottle lasts ages, just a shame it comes out crap.

I need to do the headlights on the TT, they are going a little hazy. I'm thinking 1500/2000/3000 wet n dry, then hit with some G3 cutting compound, but can anyone recommend a decent UV sealant I can put on by hand, I don't fancy spraying any lacquer.

I’ve always used CarPro Dlux.

You think I could get away with this that I have a bottle of?

or this?

Both say "sealant"

I don’t think so mate. they”re both paint sealants. You need something more permanent.

What products do you guys use to clean seats (I think they are alcantara) and carpet on the car ?
Previous owner of the daily had a dog, and interior is very bad . I handed it over to a detailer and he's taken the piss, as it still stinks of dog inside, so now I am going to have a go myself.
A friend has a wet and dry vacuum, a steamer and drill attachments I can borrow , but I don't know what to choose to spray on the fabric.

Autoglym interior cleaner. For every part of the interior it’s amazing, just dilute it a bit if you need to clean any leather with it.
Smells proper clean afterwards too.

With the wet vac, put hot water in it and nothing else. Spray the fabrics with interior cleaner, agitate with a drill brush, hot water extraction, keep going u til the water comes out clear.

Well I think the Charles I took from work has given up, not bad after 5 or 6 with constant abuse.

Need a replacement.

The slightly bigger Titan hoover with fast start £80.

Karcher WD3 from Halfords with the car bits, £100.

Suggestions on a postcard.

I've just bought and used it funny enough. Nice to use and car looks good. Dust repellent....mmm...very unlikely lol

Bought mine off eBay, got it for £12 something.

May give it a try.

I flit between Infinity Wax Rapid Detailer, Meguiar's Gold Class quick detailer and some cheaper 'cermaic' detailer that I got bought. Went over with the cheaper stuff after washing the car this weekend and within a matter of hours, there was a layer of dust on it so thought about giving something 'anti-static' a try but not sure how true those claims are.

Apparently this stuff is good a repels dust a bit - https://www.shopnshine.co.uk/produc...MI15LUu6q_hgMV249QBh1mhh9aEAQYASABEgLem_D_BwE

Im not convinced on the science tbh. The speed wipe reminds me of something similar, has a distinct like shower gel/aftershave smell. Either of the ones you have linked would be decent.

On the dusty front:

Ive definitely had some LSP's get dusty more quickly than others. But actually advertising it as 'dust repellent'...hmmm. Not so sure on that one.

There must be some science behind it, or else they couldnt advertise it surely? Or is it a bit like the duration thing - '6 months durability' (in a controlled lab environment)

No idea, as you say, there must be something behind it. I may give the FK 425 a go as there's plenty of info about it and people seem to love it.
