Is it worth clay barring before polishing?
The paintwork feels smooth so not particularly contaminated, but if I wanna do a real job on tidying up the paintwork, removing swirls and light scratches etc, will I see a benefit from it?
It'll likely damage if not remove the ceramic coat. Can you clay on top of ceramic coating or does it strip the cc off?
Most likely, yeah. I think I let them sit with salt on for too long over the winter unfortunately. They actually usually come up OK after a regular clean, but now the warm and sunny weather is here they've deteriorated more. Or at least that's how it seems.Clearcoat failing on them?
Probably easiest to take them off and give them a decent polish, might bring them up alright or could need re lacquered
Which one are you using?Ceramic coated wheels.
Basic wheel cleaner.
Hosepipe.
No stupid brushes, power washers, unicorn spunk, separate buckets blah blah blah.
Le Bosh.

Anyone know if I can make this fit with a quick release type pressure washer?
It’s got a karcher adapter on it..
Awesome, thanks for that. Saves me buying another!Yeah, the karcher bit and metal tube will unscrew from the brass housing.
You'll need some grips and probably a bit of heat to the brass body.
Use a bit of PTFE tape or liquid sealer on the new fitting.
Apologies mate I missed this.Which one are you using?
The smallest bottle they sell will be absolutely fine, I think its a 15ml as you mentioned.I want to get some GTechniq C4 to make the black platsics on the Defender back to black again. No idea how much I will need as I can't remember how far the 15ml bottle went the last time I had it.
Need to cover the front light surrounds, grill and wing mirrors as a minimum. If it will cover the wheel arches then 4 of them but I am not sure if it will work that well as they are slightly rubbery. Anyone know if it will work on the arches? They are plastic, just soft and a bit rubbery.
I’m confident it would do the full thing. I did 2 cars and had a small bit leftI want to get some GTechniq C4 to make the black platsics on the Defender back to black again. No idea how much I will need as I can't remember how far the 15ml bottle went the last time I had it.

Remember it doesn't go a huge way to making the plastics black again. It seals them. How grey are they?I want to get some GTechniq C4 to make the black platsics on the Defender back to black again. No idea how much I will need as I can't remember how far the 15ml bottle went the last time I had it.

My experience was very different. It almost restored the plastic parts to their original colour..Remember it doesn't go a huge way to making the plastics black again. It seals them. How grey are they?
If they're not in bad nick, yes - it'll give a good "as new" finish. But it's not a product that will bring greyed plastic back to black. It's a sealant not a dye.My experience was very different. It almost restored the plastic parts to their original colour..
I used the leftover on a piece of s**t micra that was at the time 15 years old. Made it look new🤣. I’m sure I just fired it on without even cleaning. Was just rubbing the flies into itIf they're not in bad nick, yes - it'll give a good "as new" finish. But it's not a product that will bring greyed plastic back to black. It's a sealant not a dye.
