Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

If you decide you want your recaro's back let me know, might make my car an easier sale as its neither a track car or road car at the moment.

You selling them and if you are did I sit in them at a meet as I can't remember?!?

What seats you got now Phil? And you sat in the seats at an eye meet when i had them in my car, best seats ever!

I love your heat soaking device ;)

Will fold some stainless 1mm sheet into a heat shield for it tomorrow as its sitting above the rad.

;) problem solved, got some nimbus heat shield in the garage also that can be fixed to the stainless if it does still get warm.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Still standards but looking for something different at some point along with some other bits ;)

Did I fit in them I can't think as I've sat in several different seats??

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

If you have full standard seats Lewis might strike a deal, im just poor atm otherwise id snap his arm off for those seats back!
You did fit in them i think, unsure though as it was ages ago!

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Brap brap yo ;)

Just buy the seats and pay Lewis up every month. For a few years

Disrespecting my filter? These filters have seen better gains than the ktec ones ill have you know! This way its much more open to cold air, compared to my old set up on the ph1. Note the filter ;)

As for seats, i would if i could but Lewis is in the process of getting his house so i doubt that would work for him! If my work load hits 60+ hours for a few weeks then maybe i can afford them lol

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Pikey heat shield time!

As i broke the lock former at work folding stainless and riveting it together had to suffice. Ended with this in about 5minutes,

Added some nimbus heat shield to the under side for that extra bit of cover,

Then fitted it so it cleared the rad pipes so it wont damage anything, few bolts holding it, unsure how long it will last but its not like it was hassle to fit or if its actually making any difference as the cars still missing two wheels!

Show the rear width with the 10mm spacers,

Just waiting on the 25mm spacers for the front, then its MOT time followed by a service.

Hopefully most agree with me on the colour and think its passable, not quite what i was hoping for but for the small amount of money and time it will do!

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Not remember Rhys's car running one of these at the RR day? ;) rollers dont lie....

Car looks great on those rusty wheels mate.

I blame his s**t plugs for his previous awful result, no doubt his filter did help, however, not 10bhp help, lets be honest! lol.

Love u btw,,, also Strongbow is great.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Spent to much time in your cold garage? They are s**t brown pretty much lol

Think it will be staying at the height it is for now as it doesnt seem to rub anywhere on all 4 corners which is nice!
The car feels nice on the road and pretty planted so im happy with it. Compared to the ph1 its only missing the Whiteline RARB and solid topmounts, then its pretty much setup identically!

MOT and tracking on Wednesday, managed to knock the tracking out somehow in the snow

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

I'm tempted just to spray the front grills satin black tbh, then they'll be like newish and stay nice for a while. It's just to cold to paint stuff atm :(

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

yeah not a bad idea, will freshen the grille right up but as said this weathers rubbish for spraying anything looks much better with the spacer's also

Some one said in my thread an alternative to spraying. Have a look.

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

But thats not free as i have satin black in my garage lol, ive read somewhere before about soaking plastic trim in oil but even im not that pikey!

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Good read mate, thanks - and the car's looking great. I think you've shamed me into getting my headlights sorted out once I get it back. They are awful at the moment due to the scratches and blemishes. :D

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Cheers! Headlights made a massive difference for the amount of time taken.

Couldnt resist a snow shot  ive also got a slow puncture in my front wheel

Way more snow than we've got here!

Why do you like the spacers? I know Cs is nuts for them but I've always figured that whilst they make the car more surefooted when cornering does that not dampen the initial turn in and take away some of the twitchiness? Never driven a spacered car in anger!

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco

Looks mainly? ;) I just like the way the car feels running spacers, the extra width makes it feels more stable imo. As for the initial turn in that doesnt really feel as if it changes that, increased castor is the only thing thats ever really changed the way the car drives (on the ph1) the turn in feels so sharp then.

Spacers arent probably the best way to improve handling i guess for the money. On the 350z i fitted them purely to make it look wider ha

And yes im rubbish at describing things in writing with out waving my arms about doing driving impressions, ill save that for CSS
