Do me a Favour Pls--Brakes 172/cup/182

Righty i usually notice this more in the morning, when i reverse i can hear a grinding/ rubbing from the rear brakes like they are still locked on , do u get any noise coming from that area at all? (and yes the hand brake is off and dont have mi foot on the brake, :))

Also if this is possible could you look at your rear pads if they are touching the disks, when stopped? Obiously you will have to take the hand brake off and move the car to unlock the brakes ( leave it on a flat not on a hill :))

Is the a gap between them?

pls help us guys will only take 5 mins to do? obiously locked on rear brakes isnt good!

if its been left overnight the rear brakes may stick on, this is normal. As long as they free themselves up after you pull away or first apply them.

sure I read somewhere its because of the materials used in 172 pads which cause this..........anybody fitted aftermarket pads and found it doesnt happen anymore????

Me too - slight grating noise then fine after first use of them. Never amounted to any more than this over 30,000 hard miles - rear pads still had approx 40% ish left at 24K.
