Does the 182 sound good

Coming from a scoob I get the feeling that this is the area I will be most disappointed! I like the twin pipe look and would be reluctant to ditch that for another non twin aftermarket pipe but will want my 182 to sound mint not too long after I take delivery! Is there aftermarket exhausts available already or is there another way of making it sound goo if it doesnt out of the box?

I had a Magnex system on my 172 so that was mainly exhaust note. The 182 seems very quiet in comparison but I quite like hearing the engine note more.

You could try a decent induction kit. Something like a BMC CDA, these give a really good noise. Theres a clip somewhere of Tomclio182s car with one on.

the noise is always there but doesnt sound that amazing, lets face it coming from a scoob its gonna be quite hard to match the flat four burble you are used to. to be honest ive never understood the sound issue with 4 cylinder engines (except the scoob of course) if you want nice noise get a TVR, no matter what you do to a four stroke inline it will either sound crap or like mr nova boys expensive addition to his crap motor ... enjoy the drive is what i say !

Just on this topic..

What does the engine sound like on every one elses 182.. when I sit there listening to it i hear a tapit type noise... is this normal.. ive never had a clio let alone a 182 before.

get a supersprint race system if and when they make one, sounds like a rally car on the 172 :D

i thought it was quiet at first but after 6k miles, mine sounds pretty good now, it definitely gets much better with age, mine has a really deep grunt now, i love it!

You want to get a mate with a Scoob to drive around for a bit and record the sound for you. Then all you do is pop it on a cd and drive around with it on the stereo, windows down so everyone can hear - hey presto !

i have love the way the engine sounds. when @ low revs its nice and quite but when ya hit the 5-7000 rpm then it starts to sound well nice. had a few mates been like wow that sounds good when ya thrash it. so it must sound quite good.
