Does This Sound All Good....Tips/Advice Please!

  C3 Picasso Beast
Here's my plan for a few hours when the weather gets good again after buying some products from i4detailing;

Wash car with meguiars gold class shampoo, dry, clay using I4D Uber Lime Ultra Fine Clay along with Dodo Juice 'Born Slippy' as lube, wash with megs again, dry, polish using AG UDS and finally wax with Meguiar's #16.

Also bought some Bilberry to do the alloys.

Never done any cleaning like this before as usually just wash the car with megs, dry and then polish with AG UDS. Never used clay/lube or wax before so been reading various things on the net and there seems to be various opinions on how it should be done.

Does this plan of events sound good then and any advice/tips you can offer??

My searching turned up that AG UDS is possibly not the best thing to use before waxing and that I should use SRP instead...this right?? Also couldn't find much on waxing compared to claying so any advice/tips on that would be nice!

Thanks in advance...

Forget the UDS you need SRP mate.

Also a de-tar/apc before washing is advisable.

Good choice of wax, cracking durability.

I would also suggest depending how serious you are, get some Poorboys Black hole.

Fire it on after the SRP then wax over it. It'll transform your finish imo.

As Gally has said....Swap UDS for SRP.

ITR or Tardis will shift alot of the tar off the Paintwork aswell.

Maybe get some wheel sealant awell to seal the wheels after you've cleaned them...I use PB Wheel sealant and its very easy to use.

Got any tyre shine?
Treatment for the Plastics?

Tyre shine should be the first thing on anybody's list! :)

I prefer a cheap wax like 476 to a wheel sealent.

True..... I just bought it as it was hyped up but TBH I should imagine wax works just aswell.....When I had my 2118's I applied SRP, EGP and a few layers of R222's and they scrubbed up a treat everytime.

Oh yeah forgot about the black plastics and tyres...nothing fancy just use back to black for the plastics and wet n' black for the tyres. Also forgot to mention I use AG ITR if I've got the time so that part's covered!

Had a look at the poorboys black hole mentioned above and am I right in saying it's basically like AG EGP but made for dark coloured cars and more expensive??

Will need to go buy some SRP then as I thought I had some but must have used it all before buying the UDS.

Question regarding waxing..is it just a case of rubbing the wax on with an applicator and then rubbing it off again with a microfibre?? Do I let it dry first before rubbing it off and what motion should I use to put it on??

Question regarding claying...Is there a certain way you're suppose to rub your car with it i.e sraight lines, direction etc??

Thanks for help so far ;)

I normally go horizontally along the car but TBH I dont think it really matters??

Waxing, yep apply wax with applicator and buff off with a Microfibre.

I have heard that Wax should be applied in straight lines but when you see that Paul Dalton guy doing it, he's all over the bloody show!

Il stick to straight lines for now, dont fancy trying the Herringbone way that seems like too much work (thats for applying by hand by the way)
