exhaust bhp increase

hiya ppl!

jus wondered if anybody knew an exact figure to quote to the insurance for bhp increase for a 1.2 mark 1 if i put a 4" backbox on it. Its a stainless steel piper back box. please say its not too much more insurance money!! I was gonna quote 2bhp but i just want the loudest exhaust in my uni to b fair!!

negligable power gains for a back box

although on saying that a lot of people on here with 1.2s have seen pretty big power gains from cat-back systems coupled with an induction kit (me included)

easiest way is tell them that it has had no performance increase as it still has the very restricitve centre section in place, i very much doubt they would be prepared to get it put on a rolling road to prove this theory

They probably dont even know what a RR is. Just tell them its purely cosmetic.

mite include ur two theorys of middle section and cosmetic, prob a minimal charge as more attractive to thiefs!!

as long as you declare the exhaust on your policy they have no comeback

i hate insurance companies they r complete t*ssers - no offence to the bloke who recommended this club to me wen i bought the insurance!!!

told them the middle section thing and they believed it and said as long as it doesnt increase your bhp. but its on my policy at a bargain £15 quid!!!

so it should b cus i had to pay £660 for the policy!!

they offered my windscreen breakage at 29.25 a year - anyone reckon its worth havin!?

not sure about the windscreen thing, may be a good idea if youre like me and get a huge stoneship in every window you have on a car

What you should tell the insurance peeps when they ask if the car is standard or modified is you fitted a stainless exhaust, when they ask about performance increase say you fitted it as it was cheaper than a standard and you only got it because it had a lifetime warranty - er power increase i didnt know about that
