Exhaust Blowing!!

I noticed my exhaust was blowing recently so decided to take it inot the garage to let the professionals have a look. Just got a call from them, and it appears both the Center and Rear sections have eroded and need replacing. What I heard afer that shocked me somewhat and all I can say is OUCH!!! Around £800 incl VAT and fitting to replace these parts.

So have now decided to go aftermarket with a Milltek Cat-Back system, from AMD Tuning in Essex for £482 incl VAT and fitting.

How can Renault charge such extortionate fees for a replacement exhaust is beyond me.

I dont understand this could you would only be stupid to pay this

saying that the exhaust esp on a 182 are naff and only last about a year.

What were Renault thinking when they made this exhaust ???

I was quite surprised about the price, but at least I am safe in the knowledge that the Milltek will be a stainless system and should last. It seemed as though the standard exhaust lasted for the 7.5 years the Cliop has been in existence so not too bad.

Out of interest, anyone know how loud a Milltek Cat-Back system is? Don't want anything too loud, but a bit sporty would be nice.

My standard exhaust has been on the car for almost 7 years and is in pretty much perfect condition.
The standard exhaust is superb.
