Was gonna say that lol
Speaking of gearboxes
Turbo all the way! :rasp:
Yeah, that's why I was wondering... I don't know of any (many?) folks running Shcricks on a stock ECU. Definitely makes for a lumpy idle I would have thought!
Mine has schrick cams and ran fine on standard ecu, its been mapped now but I had no issues without the map, just a bit lumpy
Yeah, fair enough mate - just didn't realise you could really make the most out of the Schrick's on a stock ECU with remap and without a lumpy idle.Hai! Schrick cams on a TDF mapped standard ecu. Idle is fine. Not too lumpy. Works perfect from cold.
What power you getting now?
Speaking of gearboxes
I think the word is... "BOOM!" :clown:Speaking of wages ;-)
not 100% yet mate, its getting RR on Friday afternoon so ill post it on here. Im guessing between 180 - 190. Dont really want to chase figures tho, it goes well so that's all im bothered about
That's what matters the most really isn't it. How the thing drives. Post up what it makes though
turbo's are naff though compared to NA though eh Tone!
We'll see
Hopefully very soon and then everyone will agree that turbo power is for men and na is for little boys.
We are trying to compare night and day here surely.
I've no problem with turbo's on a raod car.
But I am old school, and n/a is for me in a comp car, power delivery etc etc.
Hopefully very soon and then everyone will agree that turbo power is for men and na is for little boys.
Exactly my thoughts, I have my turbo for road and n/a for track. I'm old skool for my young years where I would rather have a BDA mk2 or a 6r4 before I would have a group N or A evopreza.
schricks (plus a few other bits )
Off course, my cars there were priced accordingly against each other, going into proper group B car £'s then it would have to be a short wheelbase quatro or delta integrale, the ford would be a close 3rd in turbos.
Sometime this year my boy, sub 60 second's is where you'll have to be....hopefully :quiet:
You dont think the metro 6r4 you mentioned is a group b car? :S And you think a BDA mk2 escort is similar cost to a group N imprezza?
Tell you what, you get just one BDA mk2, and I will swap it with you for 2 group N imprezzas even though they are worth the same, I dont mind, FLOL
I'll swap you just one 20 pound note for two 50p pieces as well if you like.
That's exactly where I'll be when the car is sorted. 63secs before with 170hp so fingers crossed. :race:
For what its worth I'd sooner have a BDA Mk2 escort than just about any other car by the way.
That or an original 60s Cooper S are my idea of automotive perfection.
But I wouldnt pick one if I was trying to go fast compared to a group B car for similar money!
So I dont think its as good if speed was all that mattered, but I do prefer it personally.
schricks (plus a few other bits )
foookin hell, i have never heard of these schricks before ....... but that is a quick clio lol and its bein driven like its stolen haha
Nice.
You seen Nick Staggs mk1?
Was keeping pace with a 500bhp Scooby round Pembrey when my mrs was doing a trackday there in our old mk1 clio, just to prove you and Fred's point again me for you, lol
(difference in weight being the reason BTW)
Its a BD on slides and sounded like it was using about 9Krpm or so, totally epic, should think 100K would only get you about halfway to owning it though, lol
now compare that to Renshaws evo
It had a stock engine fitted and was sold, its now caged up with a diff etc, competes in sprints
Did it have remoulds in the video lol? Sounds like its on plastic tyres.
