FAO those that have fitted de-cats on a 172 . . .

just a quick one to see whether or not i will need new nuts and bolts where the cat joins the manifold. its a ph 172 btw and has covered 38k on a 53 reg. Do they tend to be seized like fook? or are they re-usuable?

I re-used them, apply some molycoate threadpaste on them.
its a rotten job to do, and I removed it on a garagelift took me 1,5 hours and cuts on the knockles.

if it's not been changed before i'd get a gasket kit. rare to see a car come in that couldn't do with a new gasket. Sometimes they're so bad they cause a knock that people thing is engine mounts

I didn't have a gasket between the exhaustmanifold and the cat.
so I have no gasket now when I fitted the decat. no exhaustblowing here!
