Yeah, my exhaust drones quite a bit at the precise speed we were doing (speedo overreads a bit so I'm not quite sure) lol, any faster or slower and it'd have been fine.

Ben's trophy isn't really my cup of tea but loud it most definitely is. I feel sorry for you having your head next to the exhaust.

In other news, it turns out that one of the SMD panels I used for the RDR camping trip will JUST fit inside the interior light, with a bit of disassembly. It's now rather bright in the car.

Tried to demonstrate how bright it is in a video, I'm not sure if I succeeded but meh.

LOL! nice work, would love to see how bright that interior is from the outside when it's pitch black!

Cheers folks :approve:

Re plates, they're not something I've ever really taken notice of. They're never going to look particularly good, it's just something the car has to have.

I still really like it. (the car) It's like this ph1 ingrains something in you.

Like the head unit too... What happens should you need to press your hazards though?

Cheers folks. I've bought an RS Tuner for it as that needed doing badly, but not a huge amount else, just keeping it relatively clean and maintained mainly. Replacing the recirc flap motor as that died too. Changed out the indicator bulbs as there was an intermittent fault causing the front right to sometimes fail, plus the silvervisions that were in there were dangerously dim. Only real outstanding defect is the aux belt is slipping a bit under heavy loads but since the change is due next year I'm not too concerned, just checking the condition of the belt every now and then and going easy on it with things like PAS loading etc. Oh, and the vent trunk leading to the driver's vent keeps popping off too, leaving you with less airflow, but I'll be sorting that soon hopefully.

I would like to come up and get it done over with the Colshe treatment again at some point though @Daniel ?

Taxed it the other day, and removed the disc holder.

Head unit, there's enough room behind the screen to get to the button (you can adjust how far it moves and the angle it sits at too), but I mostly roll with it closed down so it just takes up the space of a normal stereo.

I love the fact this beast is still going strong!
Always thought it looked good when I first saw it in the flesh, made me wish I'd bought a ph1 when I parked next to it :(

Gearbox all sorted now?

Big update time.
Gearbox has been done. Ended up buying one from @deadmau5 (much appreciated!) which has been refurbished by Agency in 2012. Feels so much better now.

New set of tyres has been bought - the old T1Rs were finally used up and there's now a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3's in the garage ready to go on on monday, with the geometry being re setup too as there's some crazy camber going on at the front (@Daniel , am I right in saying you can adjust it on the FKs?). Positive on one side and negative on the other.

Also fitted Fatty's induction setup, although I've yet to drive with it on.

Oh, and I had to take a little bit of trim off the bottom of the bumper as it decided it wanted to be under my wheels.

I never fitted the FK's mate.

I have FK on my mk1 though and those are camber adjustable.
From memory, MrMahoosive fitted them and they were FK silver lines?? Might be worth googling them.

T1R's are pooh unless used as a 'fun' tyre on a dry track day. good on you for changing!

I was just wondering if you'd had a fiddle with it at one point since you said you'd freed everything up in the advert.

Cheers for the info though :)

Only the adjusting collars I freed up. It was so long ago. (ie more than a week) that I can't remember what the struts looked like! Lol

Tyres fitted and suspension geometry sorted. Much better. The induction kit sounds good but not as throaty as expected.

Got tired of not being able to see in the back so I fixed it.
