Fitting Buckets to my 182. Swapping over Pre-Tensioner - Connectors

Trying to fit Recaro buckets to my 182, and will be using the standard belts, so am in the process of swapping the pretensioners and buckles over.
I'm just a little unsure of what people have done with the connectors.
I've done the passenger one easy, as there is only a single connector plugging into the top of the pretensioner, so just removed the whole wire and swapped it over and reconnected it in the car but on the driver's side there's a load more wires:

As you can see, I've unbolted the pretensioner, and one of the wires is going to the top of the pretensioner, the other to the buckle for the seatbelt beep, but there is another one bolted to the frame, that I can't see any way of getting off. What have people done about this one?

But then what happens when I go to put it back on my original seats?
Also there's some metal pin sticking down below it which is like a hook, so if I try pulling it off its just gonna break.

It's a sensor that tells the Airbag ECU the position of your seat. It's needed for the dual stage airbag in the steering wheel. You could drill the rivet out.

Or just cut the wire and put a resistor in the connector, then when I go back to standard solder the wires back up?

Also regarding the pretensioners, do I need to have the connector in the top for it to work properly?
Coz at the moment I've just unplugged the wire altogether and just bolted on the pretensioner without the wire plugged in the top?

Hi mate

Sorry you're having problems - I'm afraid I can't help as my 172 never had this sensor at all :(

There's lots of other 182 owners who have fitted recaros (trendlines usually) so I'm sure they'll know

If it's any help though the recaro adaptor brackets on those seats are bolted to my old 172 sliders
You might be better removing the sliders from your 182 seats and putting them on - then surely the sensor would still know how far forward the seat is

Could you get any pics of the bottom of your 182 drivers seat so I can see?

Ahh that could be a solution.
I'll go out a check tomorrow. pretty sure the 172 and 182 sliders are the same.
If they are I'll go about seeing if I can swap them over at all.

Are the sliders individual on both sides, or are they joined?

The sliders are individual mate and linked with a renault bar that has that plastic handle on it

What you do are unbolt those from your seats and bin the renault bar - use the recaro one that was on the seats I gave you - that spaces them out to the right size for the recaros

It's pretty straight forward if you put both seats in front of you bottom-up so you can see them - just a load of allan bolts hold the standard renault sliders onto the recaro adapters :)

Managed to swap that black connector thing over by drilling out the rivet, rather than swapping the whole slider, though could be done easily.
The sliders were exactly the same, could even see where the connector thing had been on them!

Now just need some resistors for the other black connector, then hopefully good to go!
Did turn the car on last night and obviously the airbag light came on, but hoping won't have to get it plugged in and reset once I've got the resistors in.

Sorry to bump, what did you end up doing with the drivers seat position sensor?

I want to be able to still use it when I put my standard seats back in in the future
