Having seen a load of early access videos of this now I really have no expectations of it anymore. It looks like the previous game copy and pasted into a new map with a couple tweaks to the modification system. Which is still pretty basic 😂

Lads, I'm on xbox (gamepass ultimate so will get the basegame) and have seen the price in the xbox store for the premium upgrade pack as £59.99...

I've just bought it from CD keys (Now loaded.com) for £39.99 - should get the code on 15th May for early access

If you have bought something from them before, check your emails as I had a code for an extra £2 quid off

Absolute bargain given the hours I will likely put into it :') They do also have the full premium game on offer (£79.99)

It looks great and it’ll be decent enough to pick up and play/have something extra to do, however…..

I agree with @-Jamie- that it just looks like a reboot of the other ones with a few wee extras.
I’ll probably buy it eventually, but not in any rush for it.

Location and map is cool though to be fair but don't expect anything massively different. Some of the cars still sound w**k as well. Proper steering lock visuals are decent though rather than the good old 90 degrees of older games

WTAC cars are pretty wild

Tokyo is cool to drive around but needs to have a bit more traffic density to get that real tokyo city madness, feels a bit of a ghost town

Played a bit on my dinner hour, so far seems very like 5 with a new map but I'm looking forward to doing some of the story stuff. I think the previous versions had it to some extent but I never did it before.

The map is cool though, and the handling characteristics definitely feel updated for Japan, drifting is a lot easier.

Overall it's pretty decent with some decent improvements to the physics for an arcade game but there are some cars missing from previous games and the car customization stuff is also lacking

Shame they didn't spend as much time sorting that out as they put into the pointless garage and house customisation, With the big emphasis on japanese car culture it's pretty limited really.

Car sounds are also no where near as improved as they were banging on about either

Hopefully they sort the aforementioned stuff out with some future updates but it should of just been better to start with

I actually turned down the own car sounds in the menu as it was awful from the Silvia.

I was looking forward to creating a pretty special S2k, maybe thats not possible then

Massive performance issues here. 4070 Super and a 5800X and even turned down to Ultra settings at 1080p I'm barely managing 40fps.

Spent ages googling for solutions, with some people disabling v-sync and the frame rate cap before I find some guy who resolved his problems when he realised he'd got his GPU plugged into the x4 slot. Clearly not what was happening to me because I'm not a f**king idiot, but I was out of ideas....

Eighteen months I've had this card plugged into the wrong slot. Eighteen f**king months.

Now I'm getting near 100fps at Extreme 1440p and 130fps with frame generation.

car customization stuff is also lacking

This is my gripe with it (not tried it yet just looking at videos), R34 skyline and 350z have 1 none standard bumper option from what I've seen. Is that the same with everything else?
