Forgot to say Frayz, you can buy a replacement coolant bottle from euros for £10ish. Renault want £50 and the ecp one is fine. I've had one on since Aug 2017 and it's been sweet and still looks very clean. Just bin the new lid and keep your oe one 👍

I might just buy another ecp one to show you how crap the mould is now on the thread. They don't even come with a lid anymore.

Youre right with me my man 👌🏼

Already ordered a new bottle and a new Nissen rad so I’ll refresh the lot while I’m there.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with what I have but makes sense to me to renew it all at the same time.

So, remember the roll centre hubs that looked like they had been at the bottom of Davy Jones Locker?

Let me refresh your memory...

Well after a heap of work, wire brushing, glass blasting etc.
They arrived back from zinc coat this morning. Once built I think these have come out pretty tidy.

Also the next piece of the refresh puzzle arrived. As noted I want to refresh the header tank, so made sense to order a new rad. Nissen unit arrived almost next day!!

So, today’s cleaning job, the scuttle.
I was keen to check the scuttle drains were nice and clear as this can cause trouble at a later date. I think looking at it, this was last done before I sold it in 2015 and hasn’t been done since.

Wiper arms and scuttle panels removed and cleaned. Also took the opportunity to remove the wiper mech and give it a clean lubricate all the moving parts. I removed and bleached the washer bottle too as this was pretty grubby.

All areas cleaned and any metal parts were treated with ACF50 before I replaced the panels. Fitted new clips as the old ones were old and brittle.
Also need to replace my header tank as that’s looking pretty old these days.

Anyway... photos. :)

That looks soo clean!

Using this as inspiration I'm about to do the same thing, take the whole wiper assembly out to give it a good clean and clean the washer bottle.

Couple of questions though, did you just soak the electrics on the drivers side and clean with a brush or painstakingly avoid getting everything wet with a cloth?

Did you just soak the whole washer bottle overnight in a bucket of bleach?

Which clips did you use? The ones I've got just break when I take them out!

Or are these supposed to break :

Electrics I didn’t cover but was just mindful not to soak them. Basically just exercise some common sense around them and you’ll be fine.

Washer bottle I filled with bleach and hot water and left for a few hours. Got bottle brushes and wheel Woolies in there to try and scrub as much as I could. Then poked my jet washer Lance in and gave it a good blast out.

As for clips, they’re spare ones I had from my Impreza, I’ve loads of them and they match the scuttle better.

What is the ITG like?
In what way?
It’s a foam filter in a carbon box. Lol.

is it worth £400? I guess ITG have to charge for their development time I guess. No ideas what it does for performance other than a bit of engine bay eye candy. Sound is okay but not as loud as a Ktec.
fitment is questionable at best. You have next to zero clearance in all directions, it would never pass an OEM sign off that’s for sure. So you have to get a little creative making room for it in any way you can.

Personally, if you want performance, stay OEM and a panel filter.
If you want noise, buy a ktec.
if you have money to spend and a carbon fetish, but a Maxogen. 😅

Today’s job,

Fit PMS rear spacers and wheel stud/nut kit. Also decided now the suns coming out to get my summer wheels on. Yes they’re doing “driveway durability testing” at the mo. But they have confirmed 100% that I’m done with black wheels. My Turinis will get a colour change at some point.

Forgot to get any pics of the spacers going on, but it looks hard as nails now front out 15mm, rear out 10mm on the 2118s and 888s.

Looks perfect, always think black alloys end up appearing lost.

Spent all day trying to hold the temptation to go for a blast. First bit of sunny weather and we can't go out! Oh well!

That does look good! I can't wait to get mine back on its wheels to see how it looks with the PMS spacers.

Better!!.cant wait for when us 3 can go out for a blast in the sun for few photos😎

Me too mate. Can’t wait to get out.
You wait, we will have sun thoughout this whole shut in. Soon as we are allowed out, it’ll piss down 😂

It’s worn gloss black Turinis since 2012. I think she’s due a change.

Depending on height, spacers and offset, I found my Turinis scrubbing on full lock (et37 + 15mm spacer)
The 2118s I have only very very minor scrubbing on full lock (ET43 + 15mm spacer)

I have 5mm, 10mm and 15mm spacers to play with as when my roll centre hubs go on, the front track will go out another 5mm per side anyway.

Looking good.

Inferno on anthracite 2118’s 👌

You think so? 😏

Will look brilliant, nice to have the option to try out different spacers to get it just right!

I'll see how mine sits with the rears spaced out a bit more now. I'm quite tempted to try 15mm spacers on the front as well (et38.5 turinis) but I will need to see if I can get away with that on the brembo 4 pots..

I think ultimately the best setup all round for looks and performance is 10mm front and rear. When the RCK hubs go on, I may drop to a 5mm spacer up front.

Those 2118's look awsome. I love Turinis, but in black they did not look quite right imo. Such a lovely looking Clio. Making me want to buy my mates inferno turbo!

Do it!!

Amazing what a simple wheel swap can do to the cars appearance. The Turinis are beautiful but just lost in gloss black. Sounds daft but black wheels were notch at common when I did them.
I put black wheels on my Escort GTi in 2002 when I was 18. I never saw another car with black wheels back then.

I think they have run their course for me on the Clio.

Agreed, black also makes tyres look dirty and grey unless you keep on top of the tyre dressing

So a very kind gentleman on Pistonheads gifted me some colour coded door bullets. I trial fitted them today to see what I think.

The colour match is miles away on my car but gives me an idea if I would like to move away from the OEM silver.

My silver ones are original and have never been removed until today, so either way they need painting for a freshen up.

What colour silver is closest to the OEM
Finish?

Thoughts guys?
