frazjam's Ph1 172

Well track day done today.
Car went faultless as ever. Managed to get a new best time (using Harry's lap timer) 59.97! Aim for this year was a 60, been getting consistent and low 61s for the year when I have been timing. So I knew it would be possible. Someone managed to go even better and hit that 59, even though it is only just!

Not really got many plans for this winter, I'm thinking just a thorough clean all over, the underside is pretty minging, it's covered in rust from the discs so a good decontamination is in order.

The coilies could probably do with a look over, that's a few years they've been getting some hard use now so I think I'll send them away.

Weight saving - thinking fibreglass boot, rear polycarbs and fibreglass cup spoiler. Strip some loom out. Maybe some more holes to drill some where.

Extinguisher and cut off bought and ready to be installed

New bonnet - the flapping has cracked this one right under the diamond :(

I kinda like it , I like the option of inter-grating the rear camera into the front facing video as an extra in the corner .

With regards to accuracy , you have bettered your time so that's a plus . I guess that's all that matters as your using the same timing device .

Well more weight saving has began.

Passenger side rear loom out and cut down. No more electrics into the boot ready for the fibreglass one.

Well update.

Been a busy few weeks

Fibreglass boot, cup spoiler and poly window awaiting delivery.

New lightweight flywheel bought, fitted and a cup gearbox bolted on

Extinguisher and cut off installed (well nearly)

More weight saving in and behind the dash.

New radiator in

Get the battery cut off in?!

The progress looks good, what's your ideas for the dash?

Not finished, need to crimp on a couple ends to the battery cable and then wire into ignition live. Just need to find out if it's the right one we talked about!

Can someone confirm yellow is right ignition wire?

Dash is as it looks, gona leave the top in but keep the bottom out!

Looks great! Keep thinking that if my ph1 was still alive how similar our cars would be haha!

Too soon for me mate. I've still got a good £1000+ to get a suit, helmet, hans etc so I probably won't be out on track till March/April! Probably won't be down south till June I would think! If only money grew on trees!!

Aero catches fitted. Just need paint and that'll you be the boot ready to fit!

Also got it on the dyno to see what she's putting out. A very healthy 150 wheel horse power, on a well known low reading rollers.

This should bring me to around 153bhp/ton so not bad for group E in super lap Scotland. (136 to 160) will loose more weight if I can [emoji5]

My mate has been making me a rear tow eye to match the front MAD design one I have

Plans for winter work
I bought ASTs, KWs are for sale
Stiffen the wishbones
New inner track rods
New bearing in the roll centre kit and top mounts
Fresh fluids all round.

Possibilities
Cams
Gripper
Ultraleggeras

Just need the money to fund the last few!

I have picked up some more sponsors for next year so the car will be getting new stickers too!

  Supercharged AG 200
I've got the bearing link for the bump steer kit, McGill in Kirkcaldy sell them..... pick me up 2 when you are in :grimacing: £8 each

As for the rest of the list, im sure some quick work over a weekend could see the transfer of parts from the green one to the silver one 🙈
