I know all I need is 2 tyres that are on 3mm, and thats it. Popping in on Sat to get my bonnet catch checked, will see what they come back with!

Haha they wanted £710 to do my timing belt again, they done it before so should know it's not due for another 36k! Never spotted the other things that I know need to be done though

Mine is going in tomorrow for its free service. I wonder what could be wrong with it.

I have mine booked in for Sat morning. Had a lot of stuff done recently so should be interesting to see what they come up with. Also getting my bonnet catch done

See if they put more lube on the catch than they did mine.

I had a drop, an actual drop on the actual catch, and none at all put on the bit it goes into. I could have squeezed more oil from a peanut.

Flol. They made me sign a disclaimer that said I knew the car was unsafe to drive before I was allowed to take the keys back! Almost got talked in to buying an R27 too! Silly me. Was fun on the test drive though.

FLOL. Getting it done at the garage I go to for £100 all in (excluding the wipers and alignment). But you could easily see how Mrs Perkins would have shat her grannypants and said 'get it done! ahhh!'.

Rip off merchats. The guy at the garage pissed his pants when I told him what they'd quoted me.

bargains all round. Could be useful to find things that you dont actually know are 'wrong', but prices wise, probably going to be a tad OTT on the labour costs

Thats why ive booked mine in :) As Grey had problems though I think I will have the same :(

  Stagecoach Ticket
HAHAHAHA 25.85 for 3 wipers

excatly why i dident do mine would annoy me at how substandard dealers are

Depends if cheryl cole is repairing it in her pants if this is not the case then no sir that is not a good price

they said my monaco was an import aswell but this one i got now is registered from wales surely that aint classed as an import, and surely if they take your details once you dont have to keep giving them your vin number everytime you want something, f00kin hate renault
I don't mean to offend anyone but Wales is definitely a "foreign" country - in fact i would go as far to say its like another planet!!!

I've applied for a check, will be interesting to see what they say is wrong, as it passed the MOT test a month ago with only one advisory of lots of tiny chips on the wind scree (like i needed to be told that, i can see them everytime i drive it)

The ball joint seems to be a common thing they're pointing out.

What does their 25 point check actually entail? Or were they told to check the things that are notorious for going wrong on Renaults and then fleesing their owners by saying they need replaced?

FFS. Forgot mine was booked in tomorrow at 11. Got someone coming to look at the car at half 10 lol.

I filled in the form and got an email saying the local place would contact me to arrange it, but still not heard anything from them. Just wanted to find otu if they have any slots in Bath before i leave on holiday next week, I'm guessing they wont though

Got ming booked in for tomorrow morning, they did the same check 6 months ago when it was in for the bonnet catch and they only found that my near side indicator was fading to white and the rear number plate light was out, took it to Halfords and sorted it for less than £4.

So they are not always out to steal. That said, lets see what they come up with tomorrow.

I'll report back with mine tomorrow.

I'm going to ask how much they would charge for an Air-con regas. Bearing in mind I think you can expect to pay between £40-60 at other garages, kwik-fit etc. I wonder how reasonable/laughable it will be :nono:

After reading this thread, it doesn't suprise me that Renault stealers are robbing f*****s.

Most of the time saying things are needing replaced and worn out when there not all to make a buck or two :(

Makes you feel sorry for all the people that get ripped off and say "Does that need done" ?
"Yeah do the work"

I mean £150 a corner for a tyre is ridiculous, thats a stupid mark up or let me guess someones gonna say Renault stealerships have big overheads.

Dropped mine off this morning. Bit of an issue with it having not actually been booked in. Well it was but it was already a closed case for some reason.

Hour and a half later and it's ready for collection, actual checks take half an hour apparently. Got my free pack :)

However I did notice on the front of my bonnet the slight ding where it's been pushed shut before, appears to have been pushed shut again! grrrr. Rest of the car was as I left it from what I can see.

I was quoted £49 for a re-gas or nearer to £70 if I wanted the pollen filter changed too. Their computer systems were down so weren't able to give me the results of the test today but are mailing them out to me.

My results are in...

Things that were picked up on...

Engine cover loose (dci plastic thingy, the foam is coming off the underside) - £18.98
Coolant level below max (but dead on half)
Oil leak from under gear box (I kind of knew about this already) - £47.45
Both CV boots are adrift and leaking grease - £210.50!
N/S/F Ball joint has got play - £217.39

took it to my local garage who do work for me on the usual stuff, after they stopped laughing they put it on the ramp to have a look, they said the boots were little stiff and if they were getting done then it would be worth having both the link ends replacing too.

So, including the ball joint and a top up of gear box oil (they looked at the leak but couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from so will look at that later as it is only a very slight leak), both CV boots & link ends,

the total cost is £130.

That sounds a bit better.

Was the renault in digbeth? Most incompetent bunch of inbreds I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Shower of s**t, from sales through to service.
