Front ABS ring ????

I have a 51 plate clio dynamique 1.2 16v:

my front passenger side abs ring is buggered. Can this be replaced on its own or is it a new drive shaft? im hoping you can buy there seperatly.

Anybody have knowledge of fitting these?

Also found at the same time the discs are warped and the anti roll bar bushed are shot. DOH!

cheers for any help.

Disks don't warp whats happened is you've had your foot on the brakes when there not standing still and the pads have stuck to the disk and when you've set off some of the pads have stuck to the disks hence making it unever.

How is the ring bugger thoguth are you sure its not just the sensor needing adjusting? If you do need a new ring you need a new driveshaft but you can get them cheap. Fitting a new shafts a pain on the passenger side as you've got to drian the gearbox of oil, but its not that bad. Fredyozzasport has just taken the 1.2 engine out of his car so he might be willing to sell a driveshaft seperate.
Anti roll bar bushes are a bit of a apin but there not that bad I'm suprised there worn though unless your car lowered or on high milage.

U can get the rings seperatly. Had both of them replaced on mine, cost about £30 a ring. Bugger to fit them though u have to take the driveshafts off.

The ring has cracked in 2 places, and 1 full tooth has nearly come off. same thing happened to guy i work with, but his was on a rover 400. Im suprised is nackered already, pretty crappy made.

There is no pad material on my discs, ive changed my pads regular as well and dont brake madly either. maybe they have just worn a bit thin, and due to me braking hard sometime they have heated up and warped.

The car has not be lowered or modified, i am unhappy that the things like bushes are perishing already.

Are the ring definetly part of the drive shat as on the renualt dialogsys part list they are seperate (part number = 77 00 867 344 RING D/SHAFT ABS)

How are the CV boots removed and fitted, will i need a special tool?

Sorry for all the questions.

thanks

As I said above u can get them seperatly. I've seen them. Both of mine were cracked and the garage replaced just the rings.

Are you sure the bushes are worn they shouldn't wear for a load of miles.

You won't have warped your disks maybe there just to thin you have to chnage them when they get to thin which is usually about ever 1~2 sets of pads. I've got my brakes hotter than I care to imagine on track use and never warped them. I've had hardened pads make the disks glow bright red for some time and never warped them.
I hate fiddling with CV boots thats why I'd say new driveshaft time.
How exactly have they failed though have there rusted off?

sorry cyberblog, misread your post. Might just get a whole new driveshaft from gsf for 60 quid, as the cars done 71000miles, and imagine the cv joints will go soon anyway. I just hope the ABS rings are included on the new drive shafts.

Not sure as to the reason of the warped discs, but they are so warped you can see it.

The bushes are defintly shot, the rubber is perished to death and is crumbling. got a mind to complain to renault!

thanks for all your help

The boots are held on with a clip on most cars. Like this:

I know it probably isn't a clio but this is the common fitment.
Hope this helps
