Front Damper Nut

Help !

The nut under the front strut “top hat” has seized up and I have tried everything to get it off, blow torch, hammer etc. The nut is so mangled now that I cant get any grip on it

Can I just hacksaw the nut off and buy another one or a fitting kit ? I think the part number is Renault 7703632001 NUT HM14X150 - but unsure.

I have new struts and the febi top mount kit but need to get the spring off to reuse it.

Split the nut with either a nut splitter or dremel..

You also don’t need to bother with a spring compressor. Hardly any preload.

As above cut with Dremel cutting disc. I had this and it was the only option.
If you are replacing the top mounts you will get the new improved ones and you must buy the new top hat/spacer combined at about £17 a pair
If sticking with old mounts you could just replace the nut if still available

Does anyone know where I can get the M14 x 150 nut please - its actually part 7703032174.

I have contacted RPD and also managed to order one on ebay, but will have to wait a while.
