fuel all over engine gassing me........

noticed the other day that i was getting the smell of petrol in the car when i was driving, specifically when at a standstill, anyway had a quick browse at it while i was on my dinner at work, turns out petrol is dripping from under the fuel rail guard and down the front of the engine over the oil filter etc, ill take the fuel rail guard off when i get home and have a look, what can this be, car is a 2004 1.4 16v with 30k on it. Seems unusual, will be covered under warranty but i can't get it booked in till way after christmas now. just wondered wether it was a common fault and what was the likely cause?

The fuel line plug might have come loose.
Take the fuel rale off check the washers are all there and undamaged if you want.
