Gearbox - what shall i do??

Had a bit of bad news.. jus about to park up my car and the gear box went bang! My car is a mark 1 clio RT with 127k on the clock shall i just cut my losses and get rid e.g. scrap after taking parts off of it or shall wack a new g/box in and flog it or.... shall i just fix it and keep it its still got another 10 months tax.... Your opinions would be grately appreciated!!

That's a lot of miles mate.

Can you fit the gearbox yourself? If it's going to cost a lot I'd just scrap it, you can claim money back on the tax as well.

When the head gasket blow on my old Mk1 Prima I sold it to the garage for £300 and cut my losses and bought a new car.

get down the scrappy, get a box for £50.00 slap it in and off you go again, 10 months free motoring for £50.00
