getting obsesive!!

  renault 19 16s
hi guys..unlike you guys i dont have aclio i have a 19 16v which had a bare metal respray last summer.

i always keep the car looking clean..question is is there a limit as to how many times you can polish and wax?..im using the AG range, super resin range extra gloss and then finish off using megs QD.

was wandering if theres a wax i can use in between to top up the look in between polishing and waxing?something that will get rid of fine swirls etc.

Cheers.

  A slow one :-(
I use Duragloss Aquawax in between full on details. Restores the just waxed look.

This won't really remove the swirls though...

Todo this you would have to polish the car... to do this by hand something like Megs ScratchX would probably do the job.

AG - SRP - this contains fillers and "hides" the swirls... it does contain some abrasives but I'd be suprised if they were to remove the swirls entirely.

paint on mine isnt too bad so sr seems to get most of them

was looking for something easy to easy..coz after every wax i use the megs quick detailer religiously just to get any bit of dust i missed the first time around.

i'd give the Aquaqax a bash. Its a wax as you dry product (its actually a sealant though!!!) Can be had from Alex @ Serious Performance!

Eddie have you tried the Prima Hydro that Alex does sounds the same as the Duragloss Aquawax, very good finish also. Wondered if there was much difference if you had tried it?

Nah, not yet.

I'm nearly out of the Aquawax and going to get the Hydro next to compare the two.

I've used a cpl of Duragloss products and been pretty impressed. Love the shampoo.

You can use any good Carnuba wax ontop of the SRP and EGP combo. A decent pure carnuba will add to the looks no end. Depending on the paint colour and your budget as to which I would recommend.

The wax as you dry products the Prima Hydro and Duragloss Aquawax both look good and are easy to use as you dry, but neither will give the same look as using a pure Wax over the EGP. Alos worth looking at Optimum Car Wax as I prefer it to the two above but needs to be used after drying.

The SRP is really mild so you can do the SRP and EGP as often as you like really.

I tend to clay a car twice a year, SRP and EGP x3 once every 3 - 6 months depending on use. Inbetween that wax it with a good carnuba wax once or twice a month and maintain with a good wash technique and a wash and dry/ spray wax product and a spritz of QD spray weekly.

cheers rich the info is much appreciated.i always find everytime i wash the car i cant leave it at that..so out come the polishes, but was getting a little worried as id get out the sr and egp or just the egp every week or so.

As long as you are not installing marks/marring when you wash there should be no reason to polish all the time. You could add a layer of EGP after each wash for a few weeks. 3 layers of EGP will look great and yeild some decent durability.

not installing any marks..just become a habit, like it looking fresh all the time..think i will stick with the egp and megs quick detailer.

cheers.

Nice one - will be no need to poiish all the time then.

A decent QD spray will be enough to freshen up the looks after a wash.
