good old k-tec!!

i got all round gas coilovers on my mk1 172. no iv had them 6months and now one of the shocks are broke. i phoned k-tec up and they said that i need to take it of and send it bk to them and then they will send it to germany to get fixed then send it bk to me. which will take a month with out a car cos of there sh*t suspention. does anybody have a spring and shock i can borrow please for a wile?????

no they said that they will send it bk and get it fixed instead of replacing it as when they do get it fixed they dont want an old one sitting around

When I told David I had a leaking shock on my Cup he was getting one sent to me from the manufacturer. Sadly we never followed this up as 3 days after we spoke she was written off.

yeah they are based in essex, ive had nothing but trouble with mine, VERY noisy operation from the rears, sent back to GAZ, no fault found, yet whilst i sent them away, i put the reno shocks on and the noise went, funny that...........waste of money in my opinion, gonna get some F/Ks or H+Rs, then flog mine on ebay....



can yozza sport get good deals on these???!!!

tell them uve paid ur dough and u should be given a replacement, if the shock is fooked then they should get gaz to send them a brand new one to replace the one theyve taken out of a new kit for u!!! why would u want a sh*tty one thats already f**ked back for it to break again?!!!

and surely ktec should be sortin ppl here, rsc, wc and rtoc quickly and keepin them happy to keep a good reputation.... i keep hearing bad things recently and it puts me off the stuff i was gonna buy off them

dunno, they are sh*te though, my rears leaked after two hours of fitment, got a replacement set sent, which are better just VERY NOISY which = sh*t. I take it the f/ks or h+rd dont have any issues??

im goin to demand new ones next week. patty your right mate. i dont want sh*t ones just so they break again. dont know y i didt think of that. iv had mixed oppinions about k-tec. but i dont have a bad work agains david. just his business

k tec are fine i rung up and told them what had happened to my rears, and they came the next working day. Swapped them over myself (easy job) I then sent the failed units back to k tec

dam right mate!! i wouldnt have anything back that has failed on me... its suspension... pretty damn important and the last thing u want is one faulty one going again when ur doing 70 on the motorway...

surely david does alot of business with gaz and should have enough clout to say send us a new one to replace the one weve had to give a customer out of another pack... its not ur problem mate u paid ur money... ktec should be sorting u out, not passin the problem to gaz

Well that is absoloutly fantastic customer service!!

If it was me i wqoudl have asked him for a loaner car while the coilover was being sent off, and i wouldnt have a car to drive for a month...idiots!!!

^^ i was jus angered that u were willin to accept that it was ur fault mate and that u thought u had to sort yourself out a new spring and shock in the meantime and survive without a car for a month... its totally not your fault and warranties are there to safeguard u... not put u in a place where u are left in the lurch... u pay your money so ppl can look after u, if it was somethin less important than a car i would understand but a car is a means of gettin to work/picking up the kids... a necessity!!

i used to work at comet and i hated watchin ppl who were honest and had respect accepting that there was nothing they could do and walkin away where as ppl who fought for themselves and were god damn ignorant got catered for so much better!!

its taught me to be more pushy and demanding in a way as iv seen how it works from the inside

All you need to do mate is ring K-tec tomorrow and speak to David, no one else! If he does not send out a new unit and arrange collection/postage of the faulty item then you can kick up a fuss ;-) Good luck anyways chap, hope it all gets sorted asap.

Can anyone recommend the best (and cheapest) place to buy H+Rs??

Will do. Its just that ive had a lot of bad experiences with mail order places.

they arent only mail order mate! u can go pick up... they have a large warehouse... u can even have em fitted there!
