I'm going down to FOS for the Friday with the boy this year.

We are looking at travelling down Thursday night and staying local (ish) then driving in Friday morning. Anyone got any tips of where to stay and how to get into the carpark while avoiding as much of the queuing as possible.

I've been before, but we did the whole weekend and camped at a Goodwood campsite so walked in to the show.

I'm doing the same with my brother. You've left it late to book a hotel for Thursday night (in any decent nearby location).

only booked thickets this morning.

We live 4+ hours away so even a hotel an hour away from Goodwood will do (at a push).

Just has a quick look at premier inns and there's still a few available that aren't too far away..

Littlehampton is £165 and Bognor Regis is £227.

Always stay at the Copthorne Hotel Slough-Windsor and drive the last stretch - Great secure underground car park.

Hotel not great but it's only to put your head down for the night.

Are you attending the Bonham's auction ???

2 people with breakfast - £99 for the 23rd.

Good drive down then in the morning with like minded people going there.

If there's some nearby still available then get them booked ASAP.

When I went before I got our tickets late and ended up staying near Gatwick and driving across 40mins in the morning.
Wasn't too bad but would've been nice to stay closer.

Have a good weekend though!

I honestly haven't got the faintest idea!

I live 10 minutes away, get there super early to avoid any queues and because GRRC, I get waved into the club's forward parking area.

Having said that, I don't go any more if I have to pay myself, it's an alright experience ruined by people. I'm going the Friday this year though as a corporate guest...in which case it's all about the free beer and food!

They need to massively increase the price or start vetting the people they let in. Absolute chav filled shitfest the last few times I went so I stopped going.

(Enjoy your weekend though)
last time we went was in 2018, I spotted only a handful of flat roof pub drinkers

Anyone know what the policy is regarding taking in your own food/drink

I went in 2018 but can’t remember what we were allowed to take in

Ill be there sunday!

In regards to the 'less favourable people' attending.

Ive been to the last 4 or so and not once spotted any oiks. Okay, sometimes you get people doing dumb s**t like rubbing their hands over the cars. But generally speaking, its awesome. I love it.

Never get free tickets mind you :(

Bucket list to be taken up the hill too!

I don't think they restrict anything.

I've driven and been passengered up the hill!

I got some tickets through work, so will be taking my little lad there Saturday

Have you been before Russ - also how old is your lad - I’ve been asking my 15 year old Girl if she wants to go but the wife keeps putting her off as I once took her unfortunately - Very jealous but I’ve been watching Live Stream on YouTube today - The Zakspeed Capri looks awesome that’s there.

Hope you have a great time and the weather keeps away - one year a got stuck in the car park in a Caterham and had to be towed out.

Never Nick, always wanted to. Had a note around last week that one of our customers had some spare tickets if I wanted to go with them, so I jumped at the chance. My lad is 12, he has just recently got mad into cars. Which is great (I have a 17 year old daughter as well, who isn’t) so we are having a lads day out. I expect the cost of the day to be mind blowing, even with free tickets.

You will have a fantastic day I’m sure - I’ve been going from the mid 90s.

It’s just a little far from Huddersfield or I’d go every year - Friday Bonhams auction day is so good too.

Have a great time Nick

Going on Sunday with my Daughter. Not been for a few years now. And went on Fri & Thurs for cheaper tickets. So not had full monty experience for 20 years.

So looking forward to it.

Looks pretty dry so wont get stuck in park... just mega dusty.

She is 12 and been to a few Breakfast Clubs. But loads more at Festival of Speed to entertain (cars actually move!). Plus had a few M cars in my time so nice to be there for 50th anniversary.

Only down side is even though you pays your £70 can still feel very poor with all the corporate or premium catering areas. Especially when they are full of people scoffing & drinking champers with perfect views..... without even turning there head when a V8 thunders up because the don't even like cars just like the socialising. Same with the stalls. Some very high end stuff.

Was really looking forward to taking the buggy but unfortunately I have eye surgery tommorow so that put the brakes on that early on. One day!

Just get the brochure on arrival and circle what you’d like to see. It has all the hill climb times etc on it. So you can wander off away from the track and see stands instead in between.
