guide: Clio MK3 airbox replacement

  Fiesta ST2
didnt get any pics but its simple goes like this

1) take the plastic off the top of the battery and fuse housing front of the battery (3pcs)
2) unbolt the 4 bolts on the battery and remove the 3 terminals (positive is joined together so you dont need to worry what way to put them back on)
3) remove the bolt infront of the battery which holds it in
4) remove the battery
5) undo the bolt behind the rear right of the battery housing
6) unclip the 'fuse box' from the battery housing (this is probably the trickest bit!! there are two clios one you can see by looking on the inside of the box and one is in a hole to the right of the fuse box. put a flathead down and pull the little clip towards you whilst holding this lift up both sides ensure the other clip on the in side is unclipped.
7) pull the housing itself out two clips at the back and one on either side on the front of the left and right side and lift the whole housing out.
8) undo the julble clips on the front left and rear left of the air filter housing and pull the pipes away.
**you can skip the next step but it makes life a bit easier**
9) remove the air intake - find where it connects to the bumper and put in the middle and whilst doing that push towards the engine.
10) pull the bottom of the airbox towards the front bumper untip the rubber grommits come out there is one on the back to so now go to the top and pull from the top

you should have now sucessufully removed the airbox complete with air filter.

you now have room to install a K&N or what ever you choose.

  2008 Clio 1.4 Dynamique
I dont have a 197 (yet) but I wouldnt bother with anything other than an ITG panel filtere tbh.

  Renaultsport Clio 197
just a panel filter...

as said above - most IK lose power, including maxogen etc.

and why bother with a V6 airbox for the sake of 1.9999 bhp
