New dash looks alot better very happy with the fitment around the cage now my last attempt was a little rough 😂

So after alot of searching for the correct filler neck I found one unfortunately I had to purchase the whole car to get it but f**k it needs must and isn't she a beaut

As you can see I've had to fit a pH 2 neck red cap so I can use it

Here's some more pictures of it back when it was silver and its first number 44 not sure if I've mentioned that before but yeah it's the one with the pink day glow headlight blanks and mirrors so the pit crew could see it from the pits. You can also see its sister car the one with the one with the yellow bits on it driven by David Shaws brother Ian Shaw. I stole these pictures off the mark fish website I hope they forgive me they are of my car after all 🤣

Bedford on Monday in the cup racer with the period correct overalls and a borrowed helmet had some oil cooler issues and managed to destroy a tyre but was a good day

You might notice the car now has pink wing mirrors more authentic to when it was raced they were painted pink so that the team could see it coming down the pit lane

Went to cadwell Thursday my favourite UK track, all seemed to be going well just before lunch I was coming round crane of curve's the car completely span out no chance of saving it I was very confused as the car usually gives plenty of warning when the back is coming out. Turns out the gearbox had punched a hole in the bottom and dumped all its oil into the rear wheels 😭 any way I managed to keep it out of the wall with full throttle and some luck. So expect a new box and some changes to the car over the coming weeks

I was there, didn’t realise it was yours that had spat oil everywhere but it made a mess of park and chris curve for sure. Hope you get it sorted without too much issue.

Id seen this footage before but edited but now I know it was on old top gear with tiff needel there was a short section about the Clio cup in 95 about the close battle for the championship between my car and the other car of lee Brooke’s it runs from 5:00 minutes till just after 9:00

Have been reading through the build threads as a new member, coincidentally saw the car at simply french a few days a go. Love it. Chatted with a few of the other valver guys and found out one owned my old one j425 mlf. Small world

I’ve made the decision that the big willwoods have to go I cracked another disk last time I used it Ghey don’t seem to be up to the job of track work I’m going to replace them with 172 brakes but that also requires changing the hubs and driveshafts also the hubs need machining down to fit the damper

Had a delivery yesterday I took the plunge and purchased a clio 200 engine as a donor. I’ll be using the pistons for the higher compression maybe the rods if they are better, the valve springs as they are stronger and the cams too these little bits should push me over 200bhp quite easily along with the other supporting mods I already have.

However do need to research if the 197 valves are any better as we all know 172/182 valves are prone to dropping for whatever reason but I’ve never heard of a 197/200 valve dropping before.

The 197/200 valves are way better than the 172/182. They are also two pieces, but the welding location is different from the 172/182.

I have all those parts in my garage for a future build also.
