Headlights point down??

After a couple of seconds of turning the engine on My 197 auto headlights point down at the road giving me 2ft of vision at best during night time drives, I've been told that something may have "popped off" anyone got anymore info on how to fix this?

Are they HID projectors? They should have a self-levelling system, which might be what has broken.

Or is there an adjuster in the cockpit that can be used for when you are carrying heavy loads and the rear is squatting down, making the headlights blind other people unless adjusted?


EDIT: On a side note, auto headlights are just lazy and they bug me because no-one knows how to use sidelights any more!

There's an auto level sensor in the passenger side arch and also on the rear beam i think.

It's connected by a rod with 2 ball type joints at either end. These can fall off.

Worth check to see if they are in place.

Had the same on my megane xenons, was a nightmare at night!

I spoke to a Renault specialist earlier today I happened to catch in Halfordsand he mentioned those too, couldn't seem to find the front one though. Is it behind the wheel if you put full lock on?

It's covered by the arch liner mate. You'll have to get the wheel off and take the liner out.

They're the stock xenons, there isn't any wheel to adjust them on the dash
