help having a nightmare!

Car  DUB mk2 golf gti!
started to fit my springs 2day!jacked the rear, and stands rite!now jacked up the swinging arm!slightly, started to remove the shock absorber bolt!3 HOURS LATER STILL TRYING TO REMOVE THIS BOLT!ive got it out about 3mm:mad: .the impact drill is not even touching it,cant really get a purchase on it to, dont wont the car falling on me head either! any1 else had this problem:S

i have bin! but its starting to skip the teeth on it! im waiting for my old man to get back!and get a blow torch out his van! ill get it hot then it should come out hopfully!

Don't use one of the cheap 12 sided sockets, they slip too easily. Get a mans airgun and buzz it off, its been done up far too tightly if your air gun doesn't get it off.

Sure it hasn't been cross-threaded before?

Edit - Just saw your pic, let the arm hang

thats odd

done mine quite a few times and never had a problem
saying that ive never "supported" the arm

to make matters worse its quite a long bolt too lol

sorry not much/any help

having another crack at it 2moz!haynes manual says support the trailing arm and jack up slighlty so the shock is compressed slightly.ill get it the bolt hot 2moz with blow torch, should free the locktight!

there is no weight on it! i can freely move the shock side ways on the bolt!there no weight acting on it as far as i kno!

Use a decent sized breaker bar, and as you have the bolt abit out use some wd40 on the threads and wind it back in abit and keep undoing etc.
Mine where really stiff with a big breaker bar.

Put it back on the ground and do the shock bolt with the wheel on teh ground, will be lined up better and is the easiest way of doing it, only need to jack it for the springs

done it!sorted it all out now,i brought out the bar on the punk ass bolt!got it off no time at all!
