Hi :)

  Clio 1.2 MK 3
Hi there

Picking up my first Clio 172 Phase 1 on Friday

Needs an MOT as it ran out in June, what should I quickly check over before sending it in?

Also it has reached 78K, not sure when belts were done so again apart from a renault garage, where near Manchester can I get this done and how much?

Where is a good place for service parts etc etc??

Many thanks

Tom

Welcome mate.

Are you even sure the belts have been done? It's very handy to know where they were done as most places feck the job right off!

Hi

Not sure to be honest, won it on ebay very cheap , it says it has service history and some receipts so i will have a look and see, failing that for peace of mind ill want it done , dont fancy rebuilding the top end just yet lol. So garages dont like doing the cambelts then??

The cambelts on these cars are very specialised things and a lot of local garages think they know what they are doing but don't and end up fcuking the job up! Have a roam round the forum and it won't take you long to realise.

...Try your local branch of Eurocarparts..? Usually pretty cheap - you can use the website (just be sure you select the right bits) to order online. As I work for them, please try to use the GOOD parts! Part numbers ending in '0' or '5' are OE Quality (Bosch, Fram etc, Belts would be Continental or SKF) and part numbers ending in '1' are shoddy aftermarket ones. That rule applies for ALL parts :).
