hillpower stage 1 vs viper/superchip

As above really - looking at tuning options for my MK2 172 and have come up with

Hillpower stage 1 induction kit + Group N ECU
Pipercross Viper + Superchip
Im guessing that Hillpower is a more specifically developed package so will probably give better results. If I went for more mods in the future (e.g. exhaust) then the Group N ECU should cope better than the Superchip map?

If option 2 then where could I go in Northwest for fitting? ABP dont seem too highly regarded on here...

Cheers,

Gareth

A few people on here (ak_uk, wallisj) have the HP induction kit myself included. Whilst it doesnt add much power it does sound superb!! Im guessing that if partnered with the GroupN ECU itd certainly give you a few more bhp.

Hillpower also offer a Renault approved cam kit with matching ECU, which is different to the GroupN ECU.

Finally, theres the RenaultSport inlet manifold which Hillpower can also get you - useful for a few bhp more.

But as for the choice between the Hillpower kit and the Superchips/Viper route, its fair to say that its a personal thing really. Other 172 owners have had good results with both kits. However, Nick Hill has the advantage of only dealing with Renaults, so is inclined to know his stuff more than your average Superchips dealer.
