Homemade £40 Maxogen

After 3 days of fettling, the car is nearly back on it's wheels. One of my last jobs was to fit my phase 1 172 airbox complete with feeds and Pipercross filter.

The entire cost of the little project stands me at £39.43 including airbox, filter, pikey aluminium support strap and 63mm air feed.

I have run a length of air feed from the bottom inlet to the base of the wheel arch with the top feed running to the void just behind the headlight.

PS. Any suggestions on what to do about the strap around the box? Should I paint it black or could anything else be used?

I've only been for a very quick spin but the power seems more linear with less flat spotting. I'm going to go get some paint now so I will see if she comes alive.

The bottom as in the wheel arch? I have a phase 2 so have run the feeds into the wheel arch void rather than below the headlight as per the phase 1.

for the strap, use a mixture of charcoal, PVA and fly spit.

No mate, the phase 2 air feed runs down into the wheel arch. I ran one right to the base where there is a vent and I ran one to just behind the headlight. No cutting involved.

Not too sure mate. My exhaust is loud anyway so you can't hear any induction noise. 'Mots terms it 'The Cherry Bomb' LOL.
