A friend posted this on another forum and it did amuse me, whether you lot will appreciate it or not (as you don't know the guy) I don't know.

did some general maintainance/ cleaning, now having studied the show/shine threads on here I felt i had a fair understanding of the correct paint friendly proceedures needed to such a task.

So i took the Bootlid which was filthy into the warmth of the house in order to maintain a constant working temperature.

removed the spoiler to reveal

Then using the 'head and shoulders' I degreased and conditioned the paintwork. I've heard of paintwork conditioning before and never known much about it, it really does add lovely life and bounce.

this time Radox was employed to 'soak away the tension using sage and sea minerals'

Part 2
Done some more today

Im going to do this out of order as my Favourite is one of the first stages so i'll put that last

After the initial wash down stages which will be revelaed later,

I used a 'Microfibre Sponge' to remove any larger surface contaminant

6946198211_378a5d68e4_z.jpg

as i understand the Microfibre it is the hooks and loops that do the work

some larger contaminant had been harsh on my sponge

6946198685_35c5cb1d00_z.jpg

this was a fresh sponge aswell, truely gutted

Now obviously the next stage is the clay stage

i used specific lube that is resistant to sun

6800095338_cf3642a18b_z.jpg

and applied directly to the panel

6946201319_154e106266_z.jpg

I went and got a fresh piece of clay

6800094756_0a924a54b4_z.jpg

and methodically worked the surface

6946201999_62563691a2_z.jpg

just check the filth it picked up - this was just from one section of the bonnet

Part 3

So went onto the Polish stage, my polish is a mutli purpose use but definately get a shine on glass.

6800093682_46aea021d7_z.jpg

it had gone slightly hard though so this was gently prepared before use

6800094140_b30c7f9e85_z.jpg

this was worked in and rinsed off to remove any remaining dust

6800097310_60f9a06443_z.jpg

and the waxing stage started

i used a specific colour matched wax

6800103474_0e482a23ce_z.jpg

and gently warmed the wax

6800108638_469f42e0e4_z.jpg

with the waxing done i wanted to seal and protect the finish

6800110206_5b30ee0986_z.jpg

applied by hand

To achieve a pleasing result

anyway, thats been my detailing, hope you like.

I was pleased with the results

I LOL'd at "check how much filth it picked up" when he's just standing with a lump of dirt in his hand, superb.
