hp chips

looked on the boards.

there seem to be a few roumors buzzing about

i have a willy,with de-cat air filter and sport system.

i want the ecu chipped but some say NO nad some say YES!!!???

peps with the chip please let me know as i have heard that a few have had pinking probs when this chipp is fitted!???

main prob is they are off the shelf jobbies. u want a proper mapped one really mate. more expensive but u get what u pay for!

I had no problems with mine on the 16v.
But for some reason John Nobles seemed to think it was running dangerously lean!

i had a HP chip in the RT engine, was fine, really good VFM..

John nobles seemed to be the only place were the "pinking " problem ocurred.

this is true.

but AFAIk one of the guys went back to Nobles with standard chip and it ran spot on and produced decent power 2 days after.

iv had one and in my opinion the car was no different with the chip than it is now on standard chip other than the rev limitor aint so high, but i cant speak for everyone.
