Swerved to miss a cat going through town, got a bit sideways overcorrected it, did a 180 and hit a curb. borrowed wheels by the way both passanger side oz's were totaled, popped tyres etc. passanger air bag went off too.

will need 2 new wheels, new rear beam and a new seat and possibly Airbag computer. ouch. oh and 2 new tyres FFS

Was thinking that, would be worried about the subframe too with the wheel looking like that from experience because I did the same thing in my old car, and it was a far smaller knock than that as well.

Airbag comp can be reset instead of buying a replacement.

Im i right in saying the rear beams on all mk2's are the same, all i will need to do is remove the 172 parts from the beam and put them on the 1.2/1.6 rear beam, plug and play stylee.

I think it looks worse than it is, thank god the oz f1's are made of cheese, they seem to have take the majority of the blow.

Maybe swaped lift wheel to the right. If they were fitted by a garage like this, you might get some money back.

You can use any Mk 2 beam, its just the RS models have a slightly thicker ARB running through them, in the real world it makes precious little difference. Don't forget to check your stub axle though when you swap your parts over. Ive got a stub axle if you need one of those too.

unlucky mate! You did exactly the same as me. Airbag went off, bent rear axle and stub axle(got a complete rear axle with stub axle and drums and abs wires for £180). Luckly i did not damage to front end, just the wheel, and the rear wheel. youl have to get a brand new airbag computer from renault( they cost £200+), and then a seat from a scrappy will be cheaper.(i managed to get a dynamique one for £80)

i was doing 40, just been into town to get some pizzas with 2 of my friends and was on our way back to his house. Tyres are worn but not illegal, funny thing was my car was booked in to get some Pe2's fitted the next morning.
