Iain c's sheddy 172 cup second time round

So following on from my previous thread about the cup i thought id start a project thread for the changes being made to it this time round.

So got the car in july last year and found it had a leaky rad. Got myself an alloy uprated jobbie off ebay. Going from the lovely seats in my r26 to standard cup seats was too much so i saw a lovely pair of cobra seats with 172 cup stitched into em so i snapped em up.

The cup was on ktec coilovers and im not really a fan so when a set of 2nd hand Bilsteins came up on here i had em.

Got some pms top mounts to go with them and the whole lot was sent to Matt@code red for fitting and setting up.
It still sits like it did before but is a much better drive.

As the cobra seats didn't allow rear access and i don't really have any mates i binned the rear seats.
Its a mess in there still so will have to tidy it up over the next few months.

Have fitted a evol dogbone mount but im not really a fan so I think I will just replace the bushes on the stock mount with new rubber items.
New rear number plate light with led bulb fitted. Quite a cool cheep mod really.

Future plans are, bin the ktec stealth and fit a stock exhaust, fit white dash leds, fit the carbon splitter, wheel refurb, detail and headlamp restore.

Ok it's not going well. Took it to the rolling road in Feb and she only managed 155 bhp and was knocking like mad.

Shortly after I get her back it started Miss firing and revving itself. As the insurance was up I retired it for a few months.
It's all legal again so I thought I'd give it a full service with plugs. I also cleaned up the electrical connections in the throttle body and she fired up. Running very nicely.
Finally have this sat free so I intend to correct the headlights with the 3m kit, fit my cf splitter at last and clean the engine bay and refit the stock dog bone mount. The evol part is too harsh for me.

So after not really using her much I thought I should do some work.
She was missfiring again so I replaced the plugs and leads again. One of the plugs was really oily (left hand side) and there is a injector cough when idle.
Using the guide on here I thought I'd change em

changed all 4 As they where a good price.

Fitted a steering wheel too. Need to get some nos buttons for the horn tho.

sorted the rear of the car with some leather look and a bit of Padding. Also put some sound deadening in too cos it's blinking loud. The dog still isn't impressed.

maybe it's just too low.
It's booked in with mike at rentech in a few weeks for a cambelt, water pump and dephaser change. So should run well after.

Took her to rentech in Portsmouth yesterday for a cambelt, aux, dephaser, oil and filter change plus new gearbox oil, a new front lambda sensor and to code the airbag light out.
What a difference it's made to the car! It's proper quick now. Really have to wrestle it.
Still a few jobs to do but I'm getting through em. She needs a good detail tho.

So she's back again after over two years of not being used.
Ive not done much apart from fitting some 172 xeons, brembo max discs and 5mm spacers all round.
Took it for an mot and she passed without any issues.
Sadly no splitter cos it's too low. May get a skoda one as they are cheep.
Plans are to make it as clean as i can really.

Few little bits done to her over the last few weeks.
Front wheels refurbed. I thoughts the backs looked ok so didn't get em done but they now look tired against the fronts.
Callipers painted silver and brembo maxxx discs added

Added a fatty induction kit.
Does work really well noise wise. Its a cheep mod tbh. I will refit the fuel rail guard when I'm happy the injectors are running well.

Pms 5mm spacers all round. Wasn't happy going for huge spacers even tho i like the look. The car sits so low i thought i'd have issues with the tyres catching on a larger spacer.

New led plate lamp and cover as the last lamp had gone green and the connections where rusty.

It makes a really good van!

Next job is to get the rear wheels done and get some new nuts!
