Insurance: Changing 182 alloys to trophys

  Golf R soon...
I didn't want to dig an old thread up about this as it might start another argument

Anyway this is the situation, wanting to change my 182 standard alloys with some trophy ones.

I will obviously declare this to the insurance company (elephant in my case) but how should I word it? How much did the premium increase for other people in this situation?

Any ideas/guidance wouldn't go a miss :)

Thanks,

Darren

with elephant there is 2 options, 1 - Alloys (optional extra) or 2 - Alloys (non standard) Personally I would go for the first option as they are Renault Clio alloys and I doubt very much it will make a big difference to the premium.

Direct Line said as far as they were concerned alloys were alloys when I tried to declare mine... Most probably depends on your company though...

Option 1 is only for people that have bought different alloys when ordering the spec of there car in a dealership surely :S

Option 2 would be safer I think

Now I am :S
