It wont start..mk2 1.4 16v dynamique

Hi folks

I posted a few days ago about the engine light flashing. So i ordered new coils,put them in and the car wont start now. So i put old ones in and it refused to start aswell. So money well spent ...not! ..Its my sisters car im more suited to mk1 clios if im honest so mk2's are new to me.

Is there anyway i can sort this without taking it to renault as im pretty good with tools as im in the middle of an engine conversion with my mk1 at the mo.

Any help would be greatfull ..cheers

On startup are the dials flickering and making a stupid noise?

nope ..done the dash test ...no errors were shown..apart from engine light flashing.

Dials werent flickering also ..no weird noise either

No errors and the engine light is flashing. Hmm. Reseat the ECU plug.

how do i reset it? ...it wont start at all adam ..reseting an ecu will problably not sort it LOL

well ..im going to fone round local garages for prices of them connecting the car up to a "clip" machine to find out the error . I will report back with said error for all you mk2 owner incase this happens to yourselfs

rite well ..took it today to my MOT station which had the software to check the clio for errors. It turned out a coil error showed up ..but the mechanic said the cat was blocked. So we got it to my mates ...had new coils in the car anyway so replaced them all and it started no problems ..gotta say without the cat on the exhaust sounded awesome
