No wonder your decals are fading, you’ve been at the Tfr with a tractor broom again Mark and poor Richards car will be so faded he won’t need to paint that spoiler

@rs 1an It's not made out of dynamite! :tonguewink: I only used it on the inner arches and brakes, I still use car shampoo on the car. I'm certainly not chasing detailing stuff as it does 40 miles a day so it's hard to keep on top of it, especially this time of year.

Thanks buddy. Comes up ok for a 124k car

My camera is a nikon d3300. My go to lens is 35mm which is probably the lens I shoot most with. I also have a sigma 10-20mm and nikon 55-300.

As for the paint, I used Halfords Ford Polaris Grey.

Great update Mark, loving the more artistic photos you're tinkering with now, I've tried a bit of light painting with a friend in the past, hard to get great results but love the moving shots with the camera mount, especially the first one

I had a go years ago on my old BG/Nikon d1000 but couldn't quite get the hang of it. I feel since owning this camera, I've learnt a lot more. It's all self taught from reading up to going out and having a play. I'm still a learner but I think I'm definatly getting better with some of my shots and getting a little more confident in trying new things, like the interior shots.

They aren't perfect and you can notice the shake/blur but it gives me the bug to go out and do it again.

Your pretty handy with the camera yourself mate :smile:

It's all about the angles as I always say! :smile: I can take a decent photo, but i'm still limited with what I can do with the compact - even tho it's a Panasonic Lumix and a great bit of kit, it doesn't allow the shutter delays etc that the big boy cameras do, hence mine always tend to be more 'static' photos if that makes sense without any effects. It doesn't matter about the very mild shake on the photos, for a first go, that's a good effort!! Best way is trial and error :up:

They are motamec ones. I have 406mm. They are worth the money. Very durable and well made.

You won't be able to get them on without jacking the car up, but you can fit them without removing the wheels or suspension once jacked up, so quite easy.

Did you get your new plugs from RPD in the end?

I'm servicing mine and get everything but plugs but not sure where's cheapest for NGKs.

I did Ethan. I bought mine from RPD as I wanted the full service kit and made sense to buy it in one transaction. Deducting the price difference from the service kits they do, the plugs came in at £40. These are the proper NKG ones, just in a Renault box.

However seen as you've bought the service parts already then I'd say to get just the plugs, @George@RTR_Parts is the cheapest around. Plus you can't go wrong with him :up:

I'm dropping my wife at the airport in a few hours and woke up early. This and coffee are my default "go to" things!

Will drive there in the RB, then take it to work and hopefully do the service today as I'm doing a 1/2 day today.

As mentioned above, i got a service kit from Renault Parts Direct and made a start on it thursday morning. I did bits throughout the day as i was working on and off and helped out during the afternoon. Got the car in, jacked up and then removed the inlet so get access for the plugs.

Service kit and new wipers

I drained the oil first and let that fully drain while i did the plug change. I've never fitted new plugs since ive owned it, only a spare set from the spares bits the previous owner gave me. This was done last year but for peace of mind i thought i'd buy new on this service interval.

The proper NKG ones, just in a renault box.

Old ones wasn't in bad condition

New ones fitted and torqued up to 25nm.

With that done i removed the oil filter. I put a rag down to save spilling oil but as always it never works and i got more on my hands and the block than i think was in the actual filter!

New sump plug washer

All back together and filling up with the Elf stuff

Next up was the pollen filter change. I removed the wipers and took apart the scuttle panels. I also filled up the washer bottle with halfords screenwash. I like this stuff as it looks like predator blood!

I also gave it a bit of a clean under there. Pointless really as i doubt i'll need to go under there again!

Then me and a chap at work washed our cars.

Then i bought it back inside to dry and did something that i've been wanting to do for absolutely ages. I decided to straighten up the jacking points. Now i know they are crap and i think most have bent up, but mine was bad. I hated seeing them in side pics i've taken over the past. So i decided to take the sills off, straighten the jack points, give it a clean up, refit and rivet the sills back on and give it a small bit of paint. Luckily i had a small bit of RB paint let in a spray can so i used the last of it up on this job. Not the best, and i will have to jack it up on a different point now, but this job has made me happy and not only is it straight for side pics, but the sill actually fits next to the door now!!

The last job was to adjust the handbrake cable as it was pulling up a bit high for my liking.

All done. Was dark by the time i was finished but got a pic anyway.

Then on saturday me and @MrBlonde went down to dungeness for some pics and a bit of a drive. I've been wanting to visit here again for some time. I went there a good few years ago with a couple of guys that were on here at the time. This pic was taken of my old BG and i loved it and wanted to get a similar shot with the RB.

The weather was absolutely blinding Be rude not to take pics of the cars while we was down there so here are a few.

Cracking mate, i would never jack a car up on the sills. I used to jack my PH1 up in the middle of the rear beam and at the front on rear sub frame bolts. (after driving it up on bits of wood)

We need more photo shoots this year. :up:

You know what, I think because they was already bent, I just got carried it on out of laziness/lack of care but I'd obviously had made it worse overtime, but enough was enough.

I did Jack it up on the surname bolts this time and will continue to do so from now on. Either that or the actual chassis but I can do the latter with the jacks at work as there just not low entry enough.

And yes we do. I feel I'm getting better with the camera and now the weather is on the up we shall make a pic/drive/food date

That and the detailed info on here of miles and photos what's been changed is a nice record........ great photos also, I see between the BG and RB photos, they've re-painted the red on that 15mph sign 😂 Liking the 'in car' on the move photos too!

Got the PMS fitted in my car now btw, bit of a job but all done now and write up on my thread. Took a leaf out of your book taking a few more detailed photos along the way lol! :up:

I must admit Steve, i never did get the book in the end. All my history is now pretty much in this thread. I have a Flickr album with pretty much every pic ive taken since my ownership and also a folder of receipts but that's about it. To be honest, the pics will back up the receipts anyway.

I will take a look in your thread. I always like reading your updates and the car speaks for itself mate :up:

I ended up bolting a bit of 1/2” square bar to the jacking points, provides a good point for the jack plate and spreads the load out to stop the sills bending up [emoji1303]

Yeah I have a bit of 25mm box section that I think I will do the same with. I welded a bit of box section at the same place on my old ph1, but I think I will bolt them on this time.

Got any pics of yours? Did you drill all the way through the box section or only one side and have the nut on the inside?

When I finally get a chance to work on it again I’ll renew them with captive nuts and dip them in chassis black to stop them rusting from inside/out

I'm thinking of similar by using the existing holes and then drilling all the way through and welding nuts on the back so it's captive that way.
