That quote is from admiral, along with elephant they are the cheapest by a country mile for young drivers. Every other company on comparethemarket was £1300 - £2500.

I dont get the insurance situation, the Cup's a group 16 yet the 200's a group 15...?

I thought the 200 was 17? But anyway, the safety of the car comes into the cost of insurance a lot now. The 200 is a lot safer for drivers/passengers and whoever it is that you hit.
But yes, im convinced that insurance companies just make up their prices. I got a quote on a 2003 Audi s4, only £900 with the gf as the main driver.
