24k service, £164 inc VAT and provided my own oil.

The 12k one last year was £145 inc VAT and i provided my own oil then too.

Just goes to show how much it has gone up in my area. Not bad really though i guess as if i was in London it would be over £200 for sure.

Got me thinking though as the next one, 3 years 36k is for aux belt too so will be over £300 i guess.

Since i am doing 18k a year at present won't take long. Amazing how quick the mileage adds up. In two more years i'll be on 60k after 4 years ownership.

But then is 18k a lot of miles? I see loads of 182's on here with like 20k or 30k that are 2004/2005. Don't know how you guys do it tbh!

Re: just had the 97 serviced.

18k isn't much if you're commuting.

If you're doing 18k of private miles you're certainly doint well.

18k - lots of miles!

i was lucky with my sprts as they were purely for SDP so only did like 4k a year

price seems good tbh for a 2ed service. i used to do lots of miles in my 172. went from 23K to 80K in the 3 years i had it

yeah i thought the price was good considering. i have always had my 182/197 serviced at the same small renault minute garage so have a decent relationship with them. seem to get a good price.

My four year old 182 is just coming up to 50k.

It was serviced at 48k, and i also had the gearbox oil changed, as well as the pollen filter and a new ECU bracket.

It was just under £200 for all that.

mine def seemed to get quicker after 20k. probably a placebo effect.

would be nice to try a brand new 197 in comparison to mine as i am sure when i got mine it was tighter than Paul's GF TBQFH

hey hey ;)

Yeah, it'd be quicker i reckon, a few 197 owners say the same thing.

I wouldn't know about Paul's Mrs.*

*Oh yes I fcuking would.

However gay this may sound i've noticed my 1.2 has got more economical and revs better in the year i've had it. From 29.5 to 36K, I think it hitting 6K Rpm almost daily (when walmed up of course) has also helped.

regards things feeling quicker! we have an old style transit that on 202k that i drove the other day! now that folks is quick!! my 182 felt slow after that :rasp:

bot

I'm pretty sure my 197 is quicker than it was when I bought it too...

It probably just likes to see the grin on my face when I boot it! ;)

lucky use (LOL)

Hears a story for you

i got my Clio 197 in June on the 1st of July i was in a massive crash. i was sitting at a junction and a drunk drive turned across the lanes hit to oncoming traffic then hit me, then flipped. it took 4 weeks to fix me 197 then the water pump and air con pump and aux belt had to be changed and is back in at renault on monday because the drivers seat it nackard.

but i still love the car its finally getting repaired and iam on upgrading it 2 ive got loads to do.

off the top of my head i think it was £30. better than the £60 Renault were charging.

So the service cost £194. Still a good price these days. You can pay £30 for perfectly fine 5w40 oil. In fact buying Silkolene Pro S (£55) for ordinary road use is unnecessary.
