Just Springs or new dampers too 16v

When i eventually get my car sorted mechanically im thinking of slammin it a wee bit! dont have bags of cash at the mo still owe my uni £500, i have found someone to adjust the torsion bar at the rear but im toiling over whether to change the springs on the front or whether to get new dampers too. The cars 10 years old. Anyone done this on a similar aged motor??

Cheers

if the dampers arent leaking and appear ok then you will be ok with just the lowering springs if you cant really afford the shocks as well.
