K-Tec ITB conversion...

  clio 200 F4Rt
Exactly.

The coil pack bracket could be better, but it looks neat and tidy which is the main thing. Its for a road car FMP, not a track car so looks are just as important.

I realise you have that bracket though ;)

i am being serious, it is a nicely machine bit of metal, and yeah, i do seem to have one.... you do the math.

Unsure on fitment/mapping really, i'll let you know when K-Tec reply to me by email. :)

i just spoke to them and they said that if u have a standard car then it will all bolt on and they will supply you with a standard base map for a standard 182 which will work out of the box. You can have it fettled with but they havent sorted that bit out yet hence why its still in development

Im not sure tbh mate. Give david a bell down there. Im only interested on putting it on a standard car. I dont want exhaust and decats etc etc.

If someone wanted this for a phase 1 172 is it any cheaper not needing all the cable throttle conversion parts? And I'm assuming this kit retains air con? :)

  ITB'd 182...
The GDI package doesnt include cams guppy IIRC.

from what i can read the base price for both the gdi and k-tec kits dont come with cams. but to gain the most out of TB's they recomend cams. gdi also recomend a shortened rad for clearane issues with the TB's (just helps with air flow to the trumpets i presume??)

It does yeah, if you have the longer trumpets.
You dont NEED cams, bodies work well on there own fella!

OMG why is everyone talking about how they look?? Your not spending all that money for the looks, its all about the performance and sound.

Bunch of gheys the lot of you! :p

No mention of the last TB kit K Tec tried to market! The one from Motor Huger. As I recall, one of its failings was that its induction rampipes were too short to maximise the airflow potential that tb's rely on.

With no panel removal it did look very pretty and neat though. lol

as someone already said why are people boverd what they look like as long as they sound good and go like s**t off a stick thats all that matters k-tec have done a awsome job there start doing them for vauxhalls :)

I’m curious, how would you make the coil bracket better? I imagine it was done to look as neat as possible with very little excess material so as to not add weight unnecessarily and to hit a pacific cost target. To which I would say it does all of the above very well. But I guess I don’t know anything about designing brackets so please educate me? :)

Pretty sure drive in and out in 1 day wont having it looking like how the demo car is. just loads of fancy pipes and painted etc.

On another note, i painted my old 106 gti engine white. bad idea

I thank ya.....

*cue all the "it took ages though" brigade*

nothing quite like a bit of over engineering is there?

plus to be fair, the otherone looks neater, smaller and tidier.

M

Neater? Are you on crack? Makes the breather set-up so much better too.

Maybe you could have your B&Q hose and catch tank cable tied closer then?

M

That area is the breather box. The standard one has a pissy small breather, the AWT one has that dash 10 fitting tapped into the top, its bigger and looks so much neater.

catch tank = function over form. its far from perfect, but does exactly the same job as a £100 catch tank. so i am not really fussed.

And it is neater, its small, sleek, does all it needs to do, no more, no less.

I know you love AWT beyond beleif, but try not to be too blinkered.

but hey, lets not turn this into another 'my tuners better than yours', as it really really is getting boring.

I guess its a case of each to thier own.

i prefer a small peice of machined metal holding my coil pack, you like a big peice of wavey metal holding yours. high 5!

this vs. this

sorry i like the k-tec one better, its neater and cleaner, looks kinda medical, and i like that, the mavy one ones kinda fugly

No no, you're missing the point. Im not arguing AWT vs GDI, if GDI had made the breather I have, and I had the same set-up as yours, I'd agree that yours was much much neater, and better designed to do both jobs that its supposed to; Be a better oil breather and a coil pack bracket....

The thread is about how neat the Ktec install looks and you go all pissy when it was compared to the cars next to it, GDI.
SO yes, you hippocrate, it is getting boring.

  Chocolate Bar™
i think its a matter of personal opinion. i'd have the AWT one myself, but each to their own.

lol,

sorry, i just assumed you disliked the k-tec car's bracket as its similar (the same item) to the GDI. i do apologise. I guess its what i am used to around here.

but like its been said, each to thier own. no need to try and be clever, boy.
