Knocked out Headlight height adjuster on 172 Cup

  ClioSport 172 Cup
I knocked the little bugger out(automatic headlight height adjuster) and when I clip it back in its obviously not connecting to the back of the headlight array properly. At the moment when i adjust the headlight height using the switch inside the car the drivers side goes up and down but the passenger side doesnt move at all(obviously because something isnt connecting).
Is there a way to reconnect this little unit properly(a procedure), it seems to have a plastic probe on the end that moves in and out with the motor but how the heck do i get this to connect to the groove on the back of the headlights, the hole it goes into is very small and difficult to even see into to see whats going on? Do i have to remove the entire headlamp unit? :S

I've had this before, i don't know if there is a correct way but what i done was too make sure the "plastic probe" is sticking out as far as possible (by adjusting the lights to be in their highest position) and then try and hook it into place, once it's hooked in just slide the adjuster back into it's housing.
