Ktec throttle bodies (172/182) !

Drop GDI or BenR a call they fit and install a setup for £3.9k I believe.
Those trumpets look a bit small personally to make max power.
I think BenR was saying a while aga his setup would make about 210hp.

  172 cup'd extreme

i would prefer ben to do mine if it was me as it would be mapped to my car and mods not a set map. wonder what ecu its running for the bodies?

your joking arnt you lol

the 172 lump needs a long inlet tract length iirc to make very good power

Any transverse setup you will sacrifice inlet tract length, its just what happens whena bonnet or bulkead is in the way.

And it all depends what else you have to take into consideration, for instance, to keep aircon, and not modify the slam panel you have to run a much shorter trumpet. Also, if you want to run a sealed airbox to pickup cool air rather than rad air (as the trumpets sit right behind the rad), then you have to run shorter trumpets, so a trade off occurs between induction temp and induction length.

Ideally, you would dump aircon or have a cup, have one of my custom rads which clears the way, and then you can run trumpets which are much much longer. But cost and effort is much much higer.

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..

..did Roamer keep his aircon? dont want to lose any of my toys if i do this l8r

yea, he didnt keep it.....

you have to get one pipe made to clear the number 1 trumpet.

There isnt much space for decent inlet tract length if you keep toys, but hey.

..sacrifices then eh, its prob another year away before i do something else to keep up with the jones anyway

anybody notice the setup in K-tecs pics are of differnt setups?

One is singular bodies, and one is of paired bodies.

Hi guys, just to let you know that the original price posted on our site was slightly wrong and has now been changed along with some of the wording as it did not make things completely clear. I hope it is a bit more detailed now.

I would like to point out that this kit has been developed by a proven engine building company and ultimately this means the cost of some of the original components is quite high. For example the inlet manifold is machined from a single block of aluminium and the carbon air box is very expensive as well. We will soon have our demo car fitted with set up so people can come down and drive it to see how it goes.

We do have other engine options available for the 172/182 which include a throttle bodied, high compression 2.2l engine but this is very expensive. We are not only aiming at the fast road user in the UK as we get enquiries from all over the world for tuning and race parts for these cars which is why we have teamed up with Huger. It is possible to buy tuning parts from the likes of AMG, Techart, Ralliart etc for other makes that maybe more expensive than an aftermarket equivelant but some people (including us) would sooner paya little more for a tried and tested set up developed by a well respected company contracted to a major manufacturer to look after their engines.

Please note that this is in no way putting down any other kit available anywhere else as I am sure you will know that people like Ben R etc know what they are talking about when it comes to this sort of thing. I just want people to look at the complete package and not just the cost.

looks like a decent set up to me, tho as someelse pointed out, different bodies in the pics, DCOEs and the waht looks like SF type?!?!

hopefully it comes with SF.

also, how do you get round the fly by wire throttle???

  GDI Demo 182, Rsi Spider

no getting round it.... as ben says its gotta go... which is a good thing as its slow and crappy for throttle response....

nice body and a snappy flap is what you need!

nah, dont need that.

Mehdis, well craigs now, is running no cat and no closed loop and is significantly cleaner than the MOT requirements, even with the silly cams.

another few questions....

what ECU does this kit use?

will you still get the VVT?

will cruise control still work?

cheers

Magneti Marelli
Id assume so
Nope, wont be able to control the FBW throttle.....because there is none lol.

hang on, im not even selling Ktecs kit....better get david to reply lol.
