Thanks Andy on the ecu I read that wrong, it was another that he wouldn't map, but it was to late to edit my post once I found out chances are I'll go for a TDF EC1 as its only £599 and a very good bit of kit. Gen90 is way out of my budget, I'd be happy to get Chris at EFI to map my car, but he litterally couldn't be further away!
I'm going down to get mine mapped at the weekend from Glasgow so you'd be closer than me I expect. Lol
From what I can remember he did it in a bid to reduce torque and give his JC5 gearbox an easier time on the strip. Obviously since then he's went with a VAG gearbox and has returned to the full 2 litre capacity
Map for less midrange boost would be a better way to get less torque these days with management so cheaply available which can do so.
Again, something that seemed a good idea year ago, might not be so relevant now.
This was his setup two/three years ago, as I've mentioned he's evolved his set up into a 700+ reliable set up now.
Simon I'm pretty confident that at 400nm plus you'll get less than 2k mileage out of a gear box depending how you drive it. Mine made 344lb/ft which is about 465nm and my box lasted 600miles lol
Looking forward to seeing yours
the crank swap in scoffs car wasn't when he ran the 2.0 engine it was in his other lumps before he started the f4r from my conversation with him a while back.
Boost out
Basically what Chip said lol!I'm going down to get mine mapped by Chris at the weekend from Glasgow so you'd be closer than me I expect. Lol
It was a combination of i wanted something a bit more practical, a totally stripped car does get quite annoying, wanted alot more power and I'm hoping to buy a house in the next couple of months so would be good to release some of the funds i have tied up in the white ClioI was about to PM you and ask why you broke the white one - then saw this
Good choice! LOL
I love my ITB's but given the money back I'd boost the Clio instead.
It's awesome having a stripped out track car, but i just can't justify having another car just to tow it, especially when i don't need a car, just have one to have some fun inYeah fair play mate - that's exactly how i've felt a bit recently
Love mine to bits but having a full blown stripped out clio as your only car gets a bit annoying
Off to buy a 2.5 v6 TDi passat estate in a few months - retire the clio to being towed as a track car lol
If you dont mind me asking, what did u use to refurb your head lights? Thanks
Once the white shell is off the drive, blocking the garage need to get black car upto garage for engine/crane.When are you starting the big stuff?
Something like that, but it has it's plus sides, i now have/on there way 90% of the parts needed. It also gives me time to plan how I'm going to do thingsI know what you mean. You must be chomping at the bit to get started!
Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Best seats ever! did you have to adjust them at all to how i had them?
Good progress mate. This will be superb once done. Good luck with the op as well mate. When are you hoping for the ring in 2013?
Steve got his the other day! Very impressive fit, had to squeeze it in through the front door lol
Ah right nice one Shame as it would of meant his K-Tec boot matt could lay flat lol.Seats out, dash should be fine we tried to fit it mine through the boot but had no luck lol
He got the same minus the harness bits.
