Lightest Stealth 172 Exhaust System (Cat Back)

Hullo!

I've search, but can't find a definitive thread.

Does anyone know the weights of, or the lightest cat back, stealth, exhaust systems for the 172?

I hear Yozza made a really light 172 - doesn't necessarily mean they have the lightest exhaust system though does it? They're kind've obliged to use their own kit?

Any insight would be awesome,

Cheers,

Tom.

Tom...are you looking to strip the car completely? Remember that you have to live with the car day in and day out. The rear ends on the cup can get twitchy with less weight over rear axles.

I would just go with something stainless which is stealth and sounds good. The weight is lighter as only one tailpipe although there isnt much weight difference between a 172 & 182 exhaust system.

Cheers for the input so far... I've made some phone calls (all the below is cat back):

14/15kg - Standard
13/14kg - KTR
10/11kg - JP/Yozza
15/16kg - BTB

I didn't ask Piper as I'd already asked 100 questions before hand... >.<

Apparentley the Oreca is super light according to K-Tec, but is 78db when idle and 94db @ 4500 RPM...

I'm more or less in the market for a JP stealth exhaust then, unless any of the above is wrong...

my prospeed stealth is pretty light

Tom...its prospeed all the way for me. Had one on the cup and got one on the 182...subtle for pootling and makes a good noise when flooring the loud pedal. :race:

Interesting... I'd never heard of them until this thread!

To be honest guys, I was going to get a piper stealth from 519...

Must investigate.

What do pipers sound like? Think I'm going to have to watch a YouTube video.

I would get a quote for pro speed Tom. I nearly got one for my 1.2 before. They sound awesome.

Dunno if that's how they all sound though or that's a de-cat or what? Anyway, it's the same one as the one ToastFrenzy uses. Here are his drive by vids:

Not near standard at all. Listen to the vids. ;) I quite like them.

If someone has a quiet stealth system they can trade me with some cash they can have my Yozza race. Great around the town or out for a run but the motorway commute is . . . audible.
