manifold to cat bolt and gasket sizes

as above my bolts are basically spinning and rusted so its split causing it to blow like a bi*ch.
been having a look on here and noticed people say the bolts that come are to small which causes premature wear so theyve just bought bigger bolts from hardware store just wondering what size bolts i would need.
and also what size wire gasket i would need its a 172 cup

Personally I just bought a genuine kit from Renault and used that, was £20 something and has everything you need for it inc the gasket

i know but my thinking is why get a kit for £27 that includes bolts which are to small when i could just get the gasket for £7 spend £2-3 on some bigger bolts and reuse the springs as there fine and save £20 and also have the benefit of them lasting longer

Just buy a kit instead of wasting your time, you also need the little cups that come in the kit

Buying the bits separate isn't great. I done it when i had my exhaust fitted, ended up buying it again from Renault because it fell to bits.

It's worth paying that little bit extra!

I used 2 6mm bolts with washers cost me £2, sorted

Get two M8 shanked bolts mate. Makes the job so much easier and I would bet they would out live the genuine kit anyway. Just done mine after ALOT of messing around. Don't know if you can buy an individual gasket though.
