Lucky lad!! I can't really say much, my dad bought me my VTS for my 21st! it wasn't as pricey as that like, but good £££! My mum bollocked him as she thought i would crash!

Tell him to be careful, and enjoy.

He is being, went to a PH meet today with him, drives it very well, gives it the beans but doesnt "rag" it as such. Me and another mate are giving it a full detailing session this monday so keep an eye out on here and Detailing world for a full write up if your interested. Paintwork is in a right state but its nothing i can't sort out.

You can take heart in the 1.8d being a bag of sh.it

My car is in today and I've got a 318d, the engine's so weak that it couldn't out pull a tractor.

Well i disagree, i think its got loads of punt, especially for someone whos 18, itll do him very nicely, it drives very nicely and goes well. Granted it isnt fast as such but its definately nippy and it turns a lot of heads. Looks so much nicer in the flesh. I was under the impression it was a 2L Turbo Diesel..............

The Lad isnt a c**t atall, ive known him all my life and neither him or his family bost or mention money, bar the cars they drive but who can blame them. Really nice kid, one of my best mates.

It will feel like it's got loads of punt if you're coming from something like a 1.2 clio agreed.

1.4 not so much. Looks good tho, not a fan of the 1 series, but it doesn't look bad

Yeah i completely agree with you mate, like i said nippy but not fast.


Im supposed to be test driving the clio GT but i think the guy sold the "display" model on sunday and hasnt rang me to tell me. So im not getting my hopes up.

I had a set of suitcases for my 18th, took the hint and left home. For my son's 18th I gave him the Hillman Imp we were restoring for a year. He's never forgiven me.
